Base gates nearby
Two military installations just up the coast road
NAVSTA Mayport sits 3.4 miles north-west of Atlantic Beach on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics map, and Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island lies 8.8 miles out in that same direction. If your truck has been parked near either base, tell us the gate or the street it is closest to, since a lot behind a guard post needs a contact who can let a driver through.
Whether yours is a box truck, a flatbed or a service body that has worked around the bases, check that the Florida title carries the same name as the registration. Then photograph the cab, the body and the VIN plate, and send those pictures along with a copy of the title.
Roll-on, roll-off docks and rail ramps west of the beach
Blount Island Marine Terminal, a roll-on/roll-off berth for the Port of Jacksonville, is 9.5 miles north-west of town according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, which also lists a rail intermodal ramp at that same terminal. Day cabs that shuttle containers or vehicles between the ship and the ramp often stay parked inside the port area, so say whether yours sits in a terminal lot or at a home address.
Further west, Dames Point Marine Terminal is 11.1 miles away and the Dames Point ICTF rail ramp is 10.6 miles off, per Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings, with Jacksonville itself shown 9.7 miles west as a strategic seaport. A tractor that has run between those yards and the beaches can be collected where it stands; send the address, the VIN and a photo of the odometer and we will plan the pickup from there.
Thirty-nine carriers registered on the beach side of Duval
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 39 active motor carriers based here, 31 of them intrastate and 7 crossing state lines, and 24 operate as private fleets hauling their own goods. Whichever kind of operation yours is, the person named on the title is the one who signs, and we deal with that person directly from start to finish.
General freight is the cargo listed by 14 of those carriers in the FMCSA census, with motor vehicles named by 6, machinery and large objects by 5 and beverages by 3. A car hauler, a lowboy tractor or a beverage route truck all fit that mix; tell us which body or trailer setup yours carries and send a side photo that shows it.
The three biggest fleets on FMCSA’s census register 19, 7 and 5 power units, with 26, 7 and 5 drivers. If you are clearing several units from one yard, list each VIN with its plate number, and keep the registrations together so every title can be checked against its truck.
Beach-town builders, plants and wholesale yards
Of the 5,196 jobs located in Atlantic Beach in 2023, construction accounted for 630, a 12.1 percent share, on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Dump trucks, stake beds and crew-cab utility trucks follow that kind of work, and they are often parked at a contractor’s yard or at the owner’s house between jobs.
Manufacturing held 329 local jobs and wholesale trade 111 in that same LEHD release, while transportation and warehousing counted 83. Straight trucks used for deliveries and plant runs come out of those trades; have the title, the current registration and any service records together before you reach out, so the conversation starts with the truck itself.
Inland Duval acreage
Cattle, nursery stock and horse trailers
Across Duval County there are 314 farms, and cattle lead their list ahead of potted flowering plants and equine operations, according to USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Stock trailers, nursery delivery trucks and horse haulers come from that work, and those trucks tend to be parked on the property where the animals or plants are kept.
If your truck is on a farm, give us directions to the barn or field gate and say whether a tow rig can reach it on a dry day. A clear photo of the title, front and back, lets us confirm ownership before the visit is booked.
What to gather for a sale in Atlantic Beach
Start with the title, signed by the owner it names, plus the registration and the VIN. A truck that has worked near the Mayport or Blount Island gates may need a named contact on the day of collection, so add a phone number for whoever holds the keys.
Photos do most of the early work: the cab inside and out, the frame, the tires and any body or trailer. Send them with the address where the truck sits, whether that is a driveway near the beach, a Dames Point lot or a Duval County farm.
