Seventy-eight carriers on the east side of Orange County
Of the 78 active Bithlo carriers on FMCSA’s carrier census, only 14 are registered for interstate work and the other 64 keep to Florida. For a seller, that usually means the tractor or straight truck is parked at a yard or a driveway in town between Florida runs. Give us that address and the name of whoever can let us onto the lot.
General freight is the cargo most of these outfits declare: 49 of them, on the same federal carrier census, with motor vehicles named by 20, metal sheets, coils and rolls by 12, and driveaway or towaway work by 11. A car hauler, a flatbed that has carried coil, a box truck or a day cab: say which one you have and what it pulled, and attach the trailer details if the trailer goes with it.
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 26 private fleets in town, outfits moving their own goods rather than hauling for hire. If your truck belongs to a business rather than a for-hire carrier, have the company’s paperwork showing who can sign for it ready before we talk.
Small fleets, short radius, local miles
The three biggest fleets registered in Bithlo run 13, 4 and 4 power units, per FMCSA’s census. Selling one truck out of a handful is routine for us; send the VIN for each unit you want to part with and we will take them one at a time or together.
Drivers here mostly stay close: FMCSA’s records count 135 working within 100 miles and 69 beyond it. Across the 16 carriers reporting mileage, the median truck covered 30,818 miles a year, a figure taken from the same federal census. Write down the current odometer reading and keep the registration with it, since those two items open nearly every conversation about a truck.
New registrations have kept coming, too. The carrier census logged 11 new Bithlo carriers in 2024 and 6 in 2025, so if your authority is recent, have your USDOT number handy alongside the title.
Fifty inspected Bithlo rigs, by build year
Across the 50 local trucks that FMCSA roadside inspection records logged between September 2024 and August 2026, the middle model year lands at 2017.5. The same roadside inspection records show 36 percent of them were ten or more model years old. Whatever year yours is, tell us the year, make and model up front.
Keep any roadside report from that stretch. If your truck was stopped and inspected in that window, the report belongs with the service records you send us, together with clear photos of the cab, the frame and the tires.
Construction, wholesale and stone
Construction accounts for 230 of the 863 jobs located in Bithlo, or 26.7 percent, in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023; wholesale trade adds 105 more, 12.2 percent. Bithlo also has 44 construction establishments on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, from site contractors to builders. Dump trucks, flatbeds and delivery units tied to that work are all trucks we collect, from a job site as readily as from a yard.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists S & L Materials Inc, a crushed-stone quarry 9.1 miles south-east of Bithlo, and Rock Solid Rock, LLC, another crushed-stone operation 18.3 miles in the same direction. If your truck is parked at or near either one, tell us which and who controls access, so the pickup is arranged with the site.
Between the Canaveral and Orlando rail yards
On the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Canaveral yard lies 17.5 miles east of town and the Orlando yard 18 miles west. A tractor that has worked drayage to either yard can be collected wherever it now sits, in Bithlo or beside the rail line.
Liquid bulk moves through two terminals the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places nearby: Heniff, 18.5 miles west, and Transflo CSXT, 19.8 miles north-west. Tank-trailer tractors are on our list; name the terminals the truck served and include any tank or hazmat paperwork you hold.
West of town, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records the Naval Logistics Support Annex Orlando and the Army Research Lab’s Orlando Simulations and Training Technology Center at 6.4 miles each. If your truck is stored behind a gate there or anywhere controlled, arrange a contact who can let us in.
Bridges, nurseries and the route to your truck
Five bridges are recorded in Bithlo by the National Bridge Inventory, one of them load-posted and none under 14 feet. Mention where the truck is parked and whether a large rig can reach it, and we plan the route to the truck with that posted bridge in mind.
Orange County holds 600 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with foliage plants, propagative material and potted flowering plants leading the list. Box trucks and reefers that have carried nursery stock are trucks we buy; photos of the box or reefer unit help as much as photos of the cab.
The questions we get asked in Bithlo
- My truck is at a quarry yard south-east of Bithlo. Must it be hauled back to Bithlo before you collect it?S & L Materials Inc sits 9.1 miles south-east of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and we collect from yards like that one where the truck is. Give us the site contact and the gate arrangement.
- My single truck only hauls inside Florida. Would you take a lone Florida-only rig off my hands?Sixty-four of the 78 Bithlo carriers in FMCSA’s census operate only inside Florida, so that is the usual seller here. Pull together the title, the Florida registration and the USDOT number before you call.
- Which details about my Bithlo truck go in the first message? With a median model year of 2017.5 across 50 Bithlo trucks in FMCSA roadside inspection records, the year matters to the conversation, so start with the VIN, year, make, model and odometer reading, then photos of the cab, frame and tires.
