Pine, iron and cars
Of the 123 Callahan carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, 25 list logs, poles, beams or lumber as cargo and 30 list machinery and large objects. That points to log trailers, knuckle-boom rigs, lowboys and the tractors that pull them. Tell us which of those you have and send photos of the tractor and the trailer separately, so each one is described on its own.
Another 21 carriers here haul motor vehicles, according to the same FMCSA census, and 45 carry general freight. A car hauler or a box truck from one of those operations is something we buy as readily as a log truck. Have the VIN from the door jamb and the current registration to hand when you get in touch.
Ninety-four Callahan carriers never leave the state
Intrastate operations account for 94 of the town’s carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, against 29 that cross state lines. A tractor or straight truck that has only ever run Florida roads is usually parked at a yard or a driveway in or near Callahan, so give us the street address where it sits now.
The census also counts 147 drivers working inside a 100-mile radius and 82 who go farther. If your truck is out on a longer route, tell us where it will be parked once the run ends, and we will meet it at that spot rather than asking you to bring it home to Nassau County first.
Farm, contractor and lumber outfits that haul their own
Private fleets, which move their own goods rather than freight for hire, make up 54 of Callahan’s carriers per FMCSA. A farm, a contractor or a lumber business that owns its own trucks can sell one unit and keep the rest working; we only need the papers for the truck being sold.
FMCSA’s census shows how small the outfits are: the three biggest run 9, 7 and 6 power units. Whether you have one truck or a handful, send the year, make and model of each along with photos, and we treat each one as its own sale.
New registrations continue too, with 9 carriers added in 2025 and 7 in 2024 on FMCSA’s records. If you started up recently and the truck is still financed, have the lender’s name and the payoff letter ready so the lien can be cleared at the sale.
Titles in town
A title office a few blocks from the center of town
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles handles titles through county tax collector service centers and license plate agents, and its locations list places the Nassau County motor vehicle service center - Callahan at 450077 State Road 200, Suite #13, Callahan, 32011, about 0.3 miles from town.
If your title is lost, or a lien on it was cleared but never released on paper, the service center in town is where a duplicate or a release gets sorted out. Bring your ID and the truck’s registration, and start the request before you list the truck with us so the paperwork is ready at collection.
Callahan’s freight links down the Jacksonville corridor
Thirteen miles south of town, the North American Rail Network shows the PRITCHARD rail yard, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places a Jacksonville rail intermodal ramp at 12.9 miles in the same direction. A day cab that has pulled containers to and from those ramps can be collected wherever it is parked, in Callahan or on the Jacksonville side.
To the south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Norfolk Southern TBT (RSI Logistics) liquid bulk terminal at 15.8 miles, and the Energy Information Administration places the JACKSONVILLE petroleum product terminal at 17. Tank and fuel tractors from that run are on our list; send the trailer’s plate and any terminal access records you kept.
Military sites sit along the same corridor: OLF Whitehouse at 14.7 miles south and FLC Fuel Depot Heckscher at 16.7 miles south-east, both listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your truck is on or near a gated site, name a contact who can let our driver in.
Livestock hauling north of the St. Johns
Callahan’s surrounding county had 346 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with goats, horses and hogs leading the list for Nassau County. Livestock haulers, stock trailers and farm straight trucks from those operations are trucks we buy.
A farm truck often lives in a barn lot or a pasture rather than on pavement. Tell us whether a tow truck can reach it on dry ground and which gate to use, and send a photo of the plate or the registration so we can match the paperwork to the truck.
Callahan’s 1,514 residents share a town where the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts recorded 759 jobs in 2023. Some of that work rides on trucks: delivery vans, service bodies, dump trucks and the like.
If yours is one of them, the simplest sale starts with the title in your name, the registration and a few clear photos taken in daylight. Add the address where the truck is parked in Callahan, and we arrange collection from that spot.
