The Winter Haven intermodal ramp and the Central Florida ILC yard
Head 4.4 miles south of Cypress Gardens and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Winter Haven intermodal ramp known as the CFILC. A day cab that shuttles boxes off that ramp is a truck we buy, and so is the chassis it pulls. Write down the VIN off the door jamb and snap the odometer before you call; those two lines open every conversation we have about a tractor.
Only a few tenths of a mile closer, at 4.2 miles south, the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the CENTRAL FLORIDA ILC rail yard. If your tractor sits inside a gated lot down there, give us the name of whoever holds the gate key so pickup can be set up with them directly.
Seven point one miles to the north-west, that same rail network shows the AUBURNDALE yard. Owners who park near Auburndale rather than at home in Cypress Gardens can leave the truck exactly where it is; send the street address and we collect from that spot.
Sand pits and mineral mines around Cypress Gardens
To the north-east, 8.6 miles out, the Mine Safety and Health Administration registers the Haines City Mine as a sand and gravel operation, and it lists the Diamond Sand Plant 13.2 miles to the south-east. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that load at pits like these fit what we purchase. Photograph the bed, the hoist and the cab from both sides so the pictures line up with what you tell us.
Two industrial-mineral mines sit to the south-west on federal mine-safety records: Mineral Grow at 15.1 miles and Four Corners at 23.9 miles, both on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list. If the truck is still parked on a mine property, ask the site office whether a visitor needs an escort, and pass that along when you get in touch.
Any site paperwork kept from those runs, such as inspection sheets or service logs, belongs in the cab folder with the title. It gives us the truck’s working history in a way a photo cannot, and if you kept none, simply describe the routes it ran.
Tankers and the Heniff Transportation terminal to the west
Nineteen point three miles west, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists Heniff Transportation as a liquid bulk terminal. Tractors that pull tank trailers in and out of a terminal like that one are on our list, and so are the tank trailers themselves.
For a tanker, tell us what product it carried last and have any tank test or inspection records ready alongside the registration. Those records answer most of what we would otherwise ask, and they keep the conversation about your unit rather than about the terminal.
Groves and pastures
Cattle, honey and foliage across Polk County
Polk County counted 2,197 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and that census names cattle, honey and foliage plants as the county’s leading products. Livestock haulers, flatbeds that move nursery stock and straight trucks used around apiaries all fall within what we buy.
A farm truck often lives in a barn or at the edge of a pasture rather than in a driveway. Tell us the gate code, whether the ground is firm enough for a tow truck after rain, and who will be on the property, and we arrange collection on the farm itself.
Wholesale work inside Cypress Gardens
Workplaces inside Cypress Gardens held 522 jobs in 2023, on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Wholesale trade held 62 of those jobs in the Census Bureau’s LODES figures, an 11.9 percent share.
Box trucks and reefers on wholesale delivery routes are trucks we purchase as readily as a tractor. Gather the title, the current registration and any maintenance receipts, and if the title has gone missing, tell us early so we can talk through replacing it before pickup.
