Nine miles from the Tampa waterfront
The Tampa Port Authority lies about 9 miles south-west of Dover on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list of ports, and the Tampa intermodal ramp sits 9.5 miles west in the same federal listing. A tractor that shuttles boxes or bulk between those docks and the yards around Dover can be collected wherever it is parked; send us the street address and a name to call at the gate.
If your day cab spends its shifts drayed between those yards, tell us which one it works from so we can plan access to the lot before pickup.
West of Dover, the Energy Information Administration places a petroleum product terminal named TAMPA 11.1 miles out, with a second terminal by that name 12.7 miles south-west. Tankers loading at either one usually come back to a yard near home, so the photos we ask for can be taken right where the rig is parked: cab, frame, fifth wheel and tires.
Transflo CSXT, a liquid bulk terminal some 12 miles west, is recorded by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. For a tractor that has pulled tank trailers there, keep any site entry cards or terminal inspection sheets with the title; they let us match the truck to the work you describe.
Flatbeds, car carriers and log rigs
The same FMCSA census lists 23 hauling machinery and large objects, 21 moving motor vehicles and 20 carrying logs, poles, beams or lumber; lowboys, car carriers, log trailers and dry vans are all trucks we collect here.
Most of these operators stay inside Florida: the same federal census shows 114 intrastate carriers against 21 interstate ones, plus 50 private fleets hauling their own goods. In FMCSA records the biggest local outfit runs 7 power units, and 243 drivers work within 100 miles against 123 beyond it. Tell us the yard or driveway where your truck stays between loads.
New authorities keep appearing as well, with 9 carriers registered in 2024 and 8 in 2025 according to FMCSA. For an owner-operator who is closing a young authority, have the registration and the title in one name so the paperwork lines up on collection day.
In that FMCSA sample, 44 percent were ten or more model years old.
Note the routes your truck has covered and any service invoices you kept; they round out what the photos show.
Nurseries, cattle and construction east of Tampa
Across Hillsborough County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,992 farms, and aquatic plants, cattle and transplants top the list of what they produce. Flatbeds and box trucks moving nursery stock or cattle trailers working pasture near Dover can be picked up from the farm itself; tell us whether a tow truck can reach it along the field lane.
Within Dover’s own job base of 461 in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 75 in agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting and 63 in construction. A dump truck or equipment hauler parked at a site office can be collected there, provided someone on site knows it is leaving.

Replacing a lost Florida title close by
Florida titles are handled through county tax collector service centers and license plate agents. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles lists the Hillsborough County motor vehicle service center - Plant City at 4706 Sydney Road, Plant City, 33566, about 3.5 miles from Dover.
If the title has gone missing, request a duplicate at that Sydney Road counter before we schedule collection, and bring proof of any lien release if the truck was financed. Once the duplicate is in hand, the rest of the sale is a signature.
