Pits on both sides of Dundee
Just 4.5 miles north-east of Dundee, the Haines City Mine digs sand and gravel, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A dump truck or tractor that has shuttled between that pit and job sites in Polk County is one we buy, and it can stay parked at the yard or the pit gate while we collect it; just give us the gate address and who holds the key.
Ten miles south-east, toward Lake Wales, sits the Lake Wales Dry Plant, another sand and gravel site on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s roll. If your truck has worked both pits, mention which body or trailer it pulled, and photograph the bed, the hoist and the cab so the pictures match what you tell us.
Farther out, Mineral Grow appears on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list as an industrial-mineral mine 19.7 miles south-west. Keep any site inspection sticker or gate log from a mine with the title; it shows where the truck has spent its working life.
Container work off the Winter Haven ramp
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places a rail intermodal ramp at Winter Haven 7.7 miles south-west of Dundee. Day cabs that pull containers off that ramp are part of what we purchase; send the VIN and the odometer reading first, and the rest of our questions follow from those two.
On the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the CENTRAL FLORIDA ILC rail yard sits 7.5 miles south-west, and the AUBURNDALE yard 11.8 miles west. A tractor that drops at either yard can be picked up wherever it is parked between loads; tell us the street address and the best time to reach it.
West of town by 24.3 miles, Heniff Transportation runs a liquid bulk terminal listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your tractor has pulled a tank trailer to that terminal, say whether the trailer is part of the sale and photograph its plate and the tank’s placard holders.
Freight, car hauling, produce and lumber
If yours is one of the box-van or dry-van operations among them, have the registration and the title in the same name before we arrive, since a mismatch is the one thing that holds up a collection.
Twelve Dundee carriers in the federal carrier census haul motor vehicles, 10 haul fresh produce and 9 haul logs, poles, beams or lumber. Car haulers, reefers and log trucks each need their own photos: the ramps and deck, the reefer unit and its hour meter, or the bunks and stakes, along with the cab and frame.
Of those 83 carriers, FMCSA records show 70 operating intrastate only, 11 crossing state lines and 16 running private fleets. An intrastate truck that never left Florida still sells the same way; we come to the truck, and you sign the title over when we load it.
Driving radius around the Ridge
Drivers at Dundee carriers split 103 within a 100-mile radius and 71 beyond it, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. A local truck is usually parked in town at night, while a long-haul one may be out of state when you call; tell us where it will be on the day you want it gone.
A typical Dundee truck logs 30,000 miles a year, the median across the 15 local carriers that report mileage in FMCSA’s carrier census. Keep the odometer reading and the service log in the cab; those are the first two things we ask about.
The biggest fleet in the FMCSA census for Dundee lists 52 power units and 42 drivers; the next two list 4 power units each. Selling several trucks from one yard is a single visit for us, so give us the full list of VINs at once.
Model years of Dundee trucks at roadside
Thirty Dundee trucks stopped for inspection between January 2025 and August 2026 put the median model year at 2014.5, in FMCSA roadside inspection records. Tell us the model year, make and engine when you first contact us, and we will ask about the rest.
Of those 30 trucks, FMCSA’s roadside inspection records show 63 percent at ten or more model years. Older and newer trucks are handled the same way here: the title, the registration and clear photos of the cab, frame and tires are what we need from you.
Groves and herds
Groves, cattle and construction
By the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023, 249 of the 1,360 jobs in Dundee, or 18.3 percent, sit in agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting. Transportation and warehousing hold 163 of those jobs in the same LEHD counts, a 12 percent share. A farm truck or produce hauler kept at a grove or packing shed can be collected right there.
Cattle, honey and foliage plants lead the 2,197 Polk County farms tallied in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Livestock trailers, flatbeds for plant nurseries and straight trucks used around the farm are all trucks we buy; photograph the body and the bed as well as the tractor.
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau show 17 construction establishments in Dundee, and LEHD counts 63 construction jobs and 64 in manufacturing. If your dump truck or flatbed is registered to a contracting business, bring proof that you can sign for the company, along with the title.
Before the Dundee pickup
Florida’s title agency is the office to contact if the title for a Dundee truck has gone missing; request a duplicate before the pickup date so the sale is not held up. If a lender is still listed on the title, have the lien release on hand.
New registrations add to the list each year: FMCSA’s carrier census shows 7 carriers added in Dundee in 2024 and 6 in 2025. If your operating authority is new and the truck is titled to a different entity than the one on your USDOT number, tell us up front so the bill of sale names the right owner.
