Sand, gravel and crushed stone within a half-hour haul
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Lisbon Sand, a sand and gravel operation 5.6 miles west of Eustis, and the Astatula Sand Plant 11.2 miles south. If your dump truck or end-dump trailer hauls out of either pit, tell us which one when you contact us, and note whether the truck is parked at the pit or back at your yard in town.
Further out, the Okahumpka industrial-mineral mine lies 15.3 miles south-west, and the Sumterville Cement Plant and Sumterville Mine, a crushed-stone quarry, both sit 23.8 miles west according to MSHA records. A tractor or mixer parked on a quarry lot can stay there; give us the gate contact and the hours the site lets visitors in, and we schedule the collection around them.
Rail yards east and west, tank freight at Transflo
Two rail yards bracket Eustis on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics: Wildwood, 22 miles west, and Rand, 22.1 miles east. Day cabs that shuttle between those yards and Lake County customers are trucks we buy, so send the VIN, the title and a few photos of the cab, frame and tires.
East of town, 23.5 miles out, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Transflo CSXT liquid bulk terminal. If your tractor has pulled tank trailers from Transflo, have its registration and any terminal or service records together before you call, and tell us whether the trailer is part of the sale.
Eustis haulers: freight, machinery, lumber, cars
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 213 active carriers based in Eustis; 119 of them list general freight, 46 haul machinery and large objects, 35 carry logs, poles, beams or lumber, and 28 move motor vehicles. Whether you run a lowboy for equipment, a log trailer or a car hauler, the paperwork we ask for is the same: title, registration and photos.
Most of these operators stay inside Florida, with 171 intrastate and 41 interstate in the same FMCSA census, and 87 of them are private fleets moving their own goods. A private fleet selling one or several units can list them together with each VIN, and we arrange collection from wherever they are kept.
Mileage filings with FMCSA from 29 Eustis operators put the median local truck at 24,000 miles a year between lake-country stops and job sites. FMCSA’s register also shows fleet sizes in town running up to one operator with 32 power units and 35 drivers, and another with 16 power units.
What Lake County inspectors wrote down
Between late August 2024 and late August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspectors checked 97 trucks tied to Eustis carriers, and the middle model year among them was 2016. Just under half, 45.4 percent by those roadside inspection records, carried a model year ten or more years back.
Whatever the model year on your title, read it off the document and give it to us with the VIN when you get in touch. Add the current registration and any inspection or service records you keep in the cab for a Eustis truck.
Construction, farms and nurseries in Lake County
Construction holds 612 of the 7,026 jobs located in Eustis in 2023, an 8.7 percent share, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, with manufacturing at 302 jobs. Builders, site-prep crews and specialty contractors account for 173 establishments in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns for Eustis. Dump trucks, flatbeds and service bodies from that trade can be collected from the job site or the shop lot.
Lake County had 1,569 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and its leading products were foliage plants, propagative material and potted flowering plants. Box trucks and reefers that move nursery stock fit what we buy; tell us whether the refrigeration unit goes with the truck.
