Two rail yards to the south-west
Head 5.1 miles south-west of Ferry Pass and you reach Goulding, a rail yard on the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. A tractor that has shuttled loads to and from Goulding is often parked close to it between runs, so tell us which lot it sits on and who holds the gate key.
A second yard, listed simply as Pensacola, lies 8.4 miles south-west in the North American Rail Network. If your truck splits its days between the two yards, send the VIN, a photo of the door sticker and the registration card before anything else, and we will work out the collection point from there.
Tankers serving the terminals south of town
Pensacola TPSI, a petroleum product terminal, is 8.3 miles south on the Energy Information Administration’s list. Owners of a fuel tanker based near it should gather the cargo tank test reports and the registration together, since those papers describe the trailer’s work better than any photo can.
Trans Montaigne, a liquid bulk terminal the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records 8.4 miles south, stands beside it. Whether the tractor pulled from Trans Montaigne, from TPSI or from both, name the terminals in your first message and include clear shots of the cab, the frame and the tank.
Sand and gravel from Quikrete to Molino
East of town, 10.2 miles out, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Quikrete Mine as a sand and gravel operation. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors on that run tend to stay at the pit or a contractor’s yard, and we collect from either one once you give us the address.
Molino Pit, another sand and gravel site in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records, is 18.4 miles north-west. For a truck kept out there, a phone photo of the title front and back saves a trip, and a contact who can meet us at the pit gate finishes the arrangement.
Ferry Pass plants, wholesalers and builders
In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) put 22,987 jobs here, with 1,668 in manufacturing, 1,413 in wholesale trade, 983 in construction and 351 in transportation and warehousing. Box trucks, flatbeds and delivery straight trucks from those trades are all on our list, and the title in the business name is the document to find first.
Builders account for 83 establishments and warehousing for just 4, on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tally for this part of Escambia. If your dump truck or stake bed belongs to one of those builders, have the person named on the title sign the sale, or send a letter from the company authorising you to.
What roadside stops show about age
FMCSA roadside inspection records from 25 September 2024 to 25 August 2026 cover 84 trucks inspected here, with a median model year of 2016.5 and 45 percent ten or more years old. We take trucks from either side of that median, so put the model year and odometer reading at the top of what you send.
Keep the report from any of those roadside stops in the truck’s file. Attach the most recent one with your photos, and include any annual inspection sticker or service invoices you still hold.
Cotton, cattle and honey in Escambia County
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 515 farms in Escambia County, led by cotton, cattle and honey. Module haulers, cattle trailers’ tractors and farm straight trucks working those operations are often stored in a barn or field, and we arrange collection at the farm itself.
For a farm truck carrying agricultural tags, send a photo of the plate as well as the title, so the registration class is in front of us from the start. Directions to the barn or field gate help just as much as the paperwork.
The questions we get asked in Ferry Pass
- Can my dump truck stay at the Quikrete pit east of town until pickup? The Quikrete Mine sits 10.2 miles east of Ferry Pass in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, and we collect the truck where it is parked. Name the pit foreman or yard manager, and the collection gets booked around their hours.
- Do you buy tractors that pulled fuel from the Pensacola terminals?Pensacola TPSI and Trans Montaigne, 8.3 and 8.4 miles south on Energy Information Administration and Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings, are the terminals tankers here serve, and tractors from either are trucks we purchase. Lead with the VIN and a terminal name, then the cab and tank photos.
- What should a Ferry Pass seller have ready?Escambia County sellers should start with the title, the current registration, the latest roadside or annual inspection report and photos of the cab, frame and tires. Add the truck’s address and a contact who can open the gate.
