Sell your semi truck for cash in Fort Myers Beach the easy and convenient way

Fort Myers Beach is a Lee County town, and the trucks registered on the island share the road with quarry haulers working the limestone pits east of Alico Road.

Twelve island carriers

A dozen small motor carriers call the beach home

Twelve active operators list Fort Myers Beach as home base in FMCSA’s carrier census, and even the top three field only 5, 3 and 2 power units between them. An outfit that size often keeps its paperwork in a desk drawer at home rather than a fleet office, so pull the title and the current Florida registration before you message us about the tractor or straight truck you want gone.

Of those 12 operators, 7 are private fleets hauling their own goods, according to the same FMCSA tally. If your truck belonged to a marina, a restaurant supplier or a contractor rather than a for-hire carrier, tell us what it carried and where it was kept; a box truck parked behind a shop in town is collected from that spot.

Loads off the island

General freight, liquids and car carriers from the beach

Four of the town’s carriers list general freight as cargo in FMCSA’s census, two list liquids or gases and two list motor vehicles, with a single beverage hauler rounding out the roster. A dry van tractor, a tanker unit or a car hauler rig are all trucks we take; send the VIN, the odometer reading and clear photos of each side, the cab and the trailer coupling.

Liquid and gas haulers usually carry tank inspection certificates, and FMCSA registrations show two such operators registered here. Keep the most recent test or inspection sheet with the title, since it tells us what the tank held and when it was last checked without guesswork on either side.

Car-carrier owners on the island should photograph the deck, the ramps and the hydraulic controls along with the tractor itself. FMCSA lists two motor-vehicle haulers in town, and a rig like that is easiest to describe with the trailer hitched, exactly as it sits in the yard.

In state and out

Local runs, interstate authority and drivers on the road

Nine Fort Myers Beach carriers operate intrastate only and three hold interstate authority, per FMCSA’s carrier census. If your truck stayed inside Florida, the state registration and title are usually all the paperwork we need; an interstate unit may also carry apportioned plates and IFTA decals, so note those when you write to us.

The federal census records 9 drivers working within 100 miles of their base and 104 working beyond that range for carriers listed here. A long-haul truck may be parked far from Lee County when you decide to sell, and that is fine: give us the address where it sits today and the name of whoever holds the keys.

Registrations stayed thin lately, with FMCSA recording one new carrier for 2025 and none for 2024. If you are closing out a recently opened authority, have the USDOT number handy so we can match the truck to the operator on the title.

Quarries to the east

Crushed stone and sand pits along the Alico Road corridor

The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Alico Road Quarry, a crushed-stone operation, 11 miles east of Fort Myers Beach, and Fort Myers Mine, also crushed stone, at 12.9 miles east. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that hauled aggregate from those pits can be picked up at the quarry gate or a nearby lot; tell us which site and who can let our driver in.

Further inland, MSHA records place the Corkscrew sand and gravel operation 20 miles east, Bell Mine, an industrial-mineral site, 20.1 miles east, and 846 Mine LLC 22.2 miles to the south-east. Owners of trucks that ran sand from these sites should gather any scale tickets or site access cards they still have, along with the title, before sending photos.

Builders on the beach

Construction jobs and contractor yards near the beach

Of the 1,110 jobs located in Fort Myers Beach during 2023, construction held 61, a 5.5 percent slice on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. A contractor with a flatbed, a dump body or a stake-bed truck at a job site on the island can sell it right where it is parked.

Two dozen construction establishments, 24 in all, show up for this area in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. A builder retiring a work truck should have the title signed by whoever appears on it as owner, whether that is the business or a person, and a copy of the registration showing the same name.

Farm country inland

Cattle, corn and honey across Lee County farms

Inland from the beach, Lee County holds 813 farms whose leading products are corn, cattle and honey, per USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. A grain truck, a cattle hauler or a flatbed that moved hives and supplies between properties is a truck we collect from the farm itself.

Farm trucks are sometimes registered with agricultural plates, and those plates stay with you rather than the truck. Bring the title, note the plate type when you contact us, and if the title has gone missing, Florida’s state title agency issues a duplicate before the sale.

The questions we get asked in Fort Myers Beach

  • My dump truck is still at a quarry off Alico Road. Is pickup at that Alico Road site possible?Alico Road Quarry sits 11 miles east of Fort Myers Beach on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and we pick the truck up at the site. Send the name of the quarry contact who can open the gate for our driver.
  • My tractor is out on a long-haul route, not on the island. Must it come home to Lee County before I sell?FMCSA’s census shows 104 drivers for carriers here working beyond 100 miles of base, so trucks away from Lee County are common. Tell us the city and lot where it sits now, and we arrange collection there.
  • I ran a small private fleet for my own business. Is that different from a for-hire carrier?Seven of the 12 active carriers in Fort Myers Beach are private fleets on FMCSA’s census, and selling one of their trucks follows the same steps: a title in the business name, the registration and photos.
