Two crushed-stone quarries six miles south
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Alico Road Quarry 6 miles south of Gateway and the Fort Myers Mine, also a crushed-stone quarry, 6.5 miles in the same direction. A dump truck or tri-axle that has spent its shifts loading rock at either one is exactly the kind of truck we collect from Gateway driveways and yards.
If your truck still sits near one of those two quarries rather than at home, tell us which gate it is behind and who holds the key. We arrange the collection at that spot, so you never have to move a loaded-out hauler back up Alico Road yourself.
Photos help most when they show the bed, the tailgate hinges, the frame rails and the cab, taken in daylight. Send them with the VIN and the title in your name, and we can talk about the truck without guessing.
Sand pits toward Corkscrew and Immokalee
Bell Mine, an industrial-mineral operation, is 9.3 miles east of Gateway according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Further out, the Mine Safety and Health Administration also records the Corkscrew sand and gravel operation 13.1 miles to the south-east and the Immokalee Division sand and gravel pit 19.5 miles east.
Trucks that hauled sand from Corkscrew or Immokalee are often parked out near those roads rather than in Gateway itself. Give us the nearest cross street or the site address, and the collection gets planned around wherever the truck is standing.
A note on which site the truck served, and roughly for how long, gives us its working history in one line. Keep service invoices or inspection slips from those years in the cab for the handover.
Gateway contractors and delivery routes
Of the 3,648 jobs the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts placed in Gateway for 2023, construction accounted for 373, or 10.2 percent. Contractors with a flatbed, a stake-bed or a dump body tied up in finished projects can sell that truck here without hauling it anywhere first.
Manufacturing held 212 jobs and wholesale trade 122 in that same 2023 LEHD release from the Census Bureau, shares of 5.8 and 3.3 percent. Box trucks and straight trucks that ran deliveries for those employers are on our list too; have the registration and the keys together when you call.
If the truck is titled to a company rather than to you, check who is authorised to sign the title before we arrive. One signature from the right person keeps the handover in Gateway simple.
Cattle, corn and honey out east
Lee County had 813 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with corn, cattle and honey listed as its leading products. Livestock haulers, grain trucks and farm flatbeds from those operations are trucks we will collect from the pasture or barn where they are kept.
For a farm truck, tell us whether it carries a farm tag or a standard registration, and whether the title is in a family member’s name. Settle who signs before the pickup, so the paperwork is complete on the day.
A Gateway seller’s folder
Put the title, the current registration and any service records in one folder, along with a photo of the VIN plate. With those in hand, a truck parked behind a Gateway house or out by one of the quarries is ready to go.
Write down the exact address where the truck sits, and mention any locked gate, soft ground or low branches on the way in. Our driver uses those notes to bring the right equipment to the spot.
