Fuel and liquid bulk hauling near the bay
Norfolk Southern TBT, a liquid bulk terminal that the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places 1.2 miles south-west of Gladeview, is the closest freight site to the neighbourhood. A tractor that has pulled tank trailers in and out of that gate can be collected from a yard or a driveway near it; send us the street address and the name of whoever holds the keys.
Across Biscayne Bay, the Energy Information Administration records a petroleum product terminal on Fisher Island, 7.2 miles south-east. If your truck hauled fuel from there, put its hazmat-related paperwork, annual inspection sheet and registration in one folder before you call, so the questions we ask after the photos are short ones.
Hialeah’s two yards and the Miami ramp
Two Hialeah yards show up in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics: the CSXT yard 1.9 miles north-west and the FEC yard 4.5 miles west. Day cabs that pull chassis between those yards and nearby warehouses are trucks we collect where they sit, including inside a fenced lot if someone can open it.
West of Gladeview by 4.2 miles, a rail intermodal ramp labelled Miami, FL appears in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics listing. For a tractor that worked that ramp, the VIN, the odometer reading and clear photos of the fifth wheel, frame rails and tires are the first three things to send us.
Containers and roll-on cargo at the port
Down at the Port of Miami, 6.7 miles south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the POMTOC intermodal ramp, and a roll-on/roll-off terminal sits at 7 miles out according to that same agency. Drayage tractors that run boxes off those docks can stay parked near Gladeview while the sale goes through; nothing needs to be driven to us.
If a port-cleared truck carries its own access credentials or decals, tell us which ones, and keep the title in the name shown on the registration. Where the title holder and the driver are different people, both names on the first call keep the paperwork straight.
Plant, warehouse and site jobs on the 2023 count
Of the 4,615 jobs counted in Gladeview for 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, 769 were in manufacturing and 755 in wholesale trade. Box trucks, reefers and flatbeds that deliver for plants and distributors at that scale are on our list; a photo of the body and a note on its length tell us what kind of truck it is.
That same LEHD release puts 532 Gladeview jobs in transportation and warehousing and 454 in construction for 2023. Dump trucks, stake beds and roll-offs from building sites fit what we buy, and a service log, even a handwritten one, travels well alongside the title.
Stone and nurseries
Quarry loads and nursery routes
Epic Stoneworks, Inc., a dimension-stone quarry 7.1 miles south-west of Gladeview, is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A flatbed or dump body that has carried cut stone from a quarry site can be inspected on that site if access is arranged; tell us who signs visitors in.
Miami-Dade County had 2,664 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with foliage plants, potted flowering plants and cut flowers and greens leading its list. Refrigerated straight trucks and box vans that carry nursery stock to market fit what we collect here; note the reefer unit’s make and hours with your photos.
The questions we get asked in Gladeview
- Could you pick up a day cab sitting next to Hialeah’s CSXT rail yard, or must I move it first? The North American Rail Network puts that Hialeah yard 1.9 miles north-west of Gladeview, and we collect from that area directly. Give us the lot’s address and a contact who can let a driver in.
- I hauled from the Port of Miami but live elsewhere now. Do I need to come back?POMTOC and the roll-on/roll-off terminal sit 6.7 and 7 miles south-east of Gladeview on Bureau of Transportation Statistics figures, and the truck can stay parked near them. You handle the paperwork from wherever you live, and someone local hands over the keys.
- What should I have ready for a nursery delivery truck?Foliage and potted flowering plants top Miami-Dade County’s list in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and a reefer that hauls those crops should come with its title, registration, reefer unit details and photos of the cargo box.
