General freight, car haulers and roll-offs
Of the 1,476 active Greenacres carriers on FMCSA’s carrier census, 813 tick general freight as a cargo they carry. Box trucks, straight trucks and tractors from that general freight work are the bulk of what a seller here brings us, so start with the VIN, the title and a few clear photos of the cab and the cargo body.
Car haulers show up too: 186 Greenacres carriers declare motor vehicles as cargo in the same federal census. If yours is a wedge or stinger rig, photograph the deck, the ramps and the headache rack, and tell us whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays with you.
Refuse and heavy hauling round out the list, with 149 carriers registered for garbage, refuse and trash and 109 for machinery and large objects, according to FMCSA. Roll-off, rear-loader and lowboy owners should have the registration for each unit ready, along with any body or equipment paperwork that names the builder.
Florida roads and short Palm Beach runs
Of the Greenacres carriers in the FMCSA census, 1,201 run intrastate and 274 run interstate, while 341 operate as private fleets hauling their own goods. A truck that has only worked Florida roads usually carries a Florida title and registration, which keeps the paperwork on a sale simple.
Here 1,949 drivers stay inside a 100-mile radius and 1,492 range past it, per Greenacres driver filings with FMCSA. Whichever group you drove in, the truck is most likely parked at your yard or home in Greenacres when we collect it, and an address plus a phone number for whoever holds the keys is all we need to plan around.
Across 265 local carriers that report mileage, the median truck covers 38,889 miles a year on FMCSA’s figures. Note your odometer reading when you first contact us; it sits next to the VIN as the first two things we ask.
Greenacres rigs at roadside checks, 2024 to 2026
Between August 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records logged 618 trucks from Greenacres carriers, and their median model year is 2018. Your registration and title will show the model year, so keep both in the cab or with the photos you send.
Just under 40 percent of those 618 Greenacres trucks carried a model year ten or more years back, the same FMCSA inspection records show. Older or newer, the steps are the same: title in your name, registration current or recently expired, and any service records you have kept.
Fleet owners with several units are part of the picture here as well; the three largest local fleets in the FMCSA census run 83, 56 and 44 power units. If you are selling more than one truck, send a list of VINs with the location of each, and we will plan collection unit by unit.
Northeast toward West Palm Beach and the port
The North American Rail Network places the West Palm Beach rail yard 8.7 miles northeast of Greenacres and a second yard at the Port of Palm Beach 10.9 miles out. If your truck is parked at a yard or a drop lot near either one, tell us who controls the gate so collection can be arranged with them.
At the port, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Palm Beach Terminal as both a roll-on/roll-off terminal and a rail intermodal ramp, 11 miles northeast. Drayage tractors and day cabs that pulled boxes off that ramp do not need to come back to Greenacres; we collect from where the truck sits.
The Energy Information Administration lists a West Palm Beach petroleum product terminal 10.8 miles to the northeast. Fuel tanker owners should keep any tank inspection certificates with the title, since those papers travel with the unit.
Westward
Quarry and construction trucks west of town
Palm Beach Aggregates LLC, a crushed-stone quarry, sits 15.5 miles west of Greenacres in Mine Safety and Health Administration records. Dump trucks and tractors with end-dump trailers that hauled stone from there can be collected at the quarry gate or your yard, whichever is easier for you.
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau count 722 construction establishments here, against 4 in warehousing. Mixer, dump and flatbed owners from that construction trade should photograph the body and any mounted equipment and have the registration for both truck and trailer on hand.
Census Bureau LEHD job counts for 2023 show 403 construction jobs in Greenacres out of 7,858, beside 184 in transportation and warehousing. If your truck belonged to a contractor rather than a carrier, the title may be in the company’s name, so check who signs before you call.
Farm and nursery
Palm Beach County growers and horse farms
Foliage plants, potted flowering plants and horses lead the 1,368 Palm Beach County farms tallied in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Nursery box trucks, refrigerated straight trucks and horse haulers from that farm work all fit what we purchase.
A farm truck may be titled to the farm or the grower rather than to you personally, so confirm the name on the title before we set a collection date. Photos of the reefer unit or the stock body help us understand the truck before we see it.
The questions we get asked in Greenacres
- My tractor sits on a lot by the Palm Beach Terminal at the port. Must it come back to Greenacres before you collect?Leave it at the port. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Palm Beach Terminal 11 miles northeast of Greenacres, and we collect the tractor from that lot. Give us the lot owner and a gate contact at the terminal.
- I only ever hauled inside Florida. Is the sale handled any differently for an intrastate truck? Not the process. FMCSA’s carrier census shows 1,201 Greenacres carriers running intrastate, and a Florida title and registration in your name are what we need from you.
- My dump truck is parked at the quarry west of town. Is Palm Beach Aggregates somewhere you collect from?It is on the list. Mine Safety and Health Administration records place Palm Beach Aggregates LLC 15.5 miles west of Greenacres; give us the location and a contact at the gate, and we arrange collection around it.
