Up the island
Deliveries north toward the Space Force base
Up the barrier island, 5.3 miles from Indian Harbour Beach on Bureau of Transportation Statistics records, sits Patrick Space Force Base. A truck that has made deliveries onto the base may now be parked in a beachside driveway or a side lot off the island road; give us that street address and a phone number for whoever holds the keys there.
Gate access is the base’s business, not ours, so a truck stored inside the fence should be moved out to a public lot or a home address before pickup. Keep the Florida title and current registration with the truck, so the paperwork can be signed beside it on the beachside street.
Fuel at the cape
Tractors on the cape’s fuel racks
Two petroleum product terminals named Cape Canaveral appear in Energy Information Administration listings, one 17 miles and the other 18.1 miles north of town. Tankers loading at those racks and delivering fuel down the Brevard coast are tractors we purchase, with or without the trailer.
VTTI’s liquid bulk terminal stands 17.9 miles to the north, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your tractor pulled tank trailers between VTTI and the Cape Canaveral racks, list those stops when you write to us, and send photos showing the cab, the frame rails and the fifth wheel along with a clear shot of the VIN plate.
Ships and rail
Port Canaveral’s ro-ro pier and the Cocoa ramp
South Cargo Pier 4 at Port Canaveral, a roll-on/roll-off terminal on Bureau of Transportation Statistics records, is 17.2 miles north of Indian Harbour Beach. Car carriers and lowboys that moved vehicles and equipment off that pier fit what we take, and a trailer parked near the port can be collected separately from the tractor if they are stored apart.
Across the Indian River, the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics shows the Cocoa-Rockledge rail yard 15.3 miles to the north-west. Close by, an intermodal ramp at Cocoa sits 15.5 miles out per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics; a day cab that drayed boxes from that ramp can stay on the mainland side, and we will drive over to it.
Buck Hammock and hauling fill
Buck Hammock, an industrial-mineral mine in Mine Safety and Health Administration records, lies 18.6 miles west of town. Dump trucks and end-dump trailers hauling material out of a pit like that one tend to stay parked near the work rather than on the island.
If yours sits at a yard out past the river, tell us the road it is on and whether a tow truck can reach it on firm ground. Gather the service records for the engine and hydraulics before we talk, since they answer many of our questions about a pit truck in one go.
Contractors on the island, cattle and hives inland
Within Indian Harbour Beach, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) record 2,271 jobs in 2023, and construction accounts for 90 of them, about 4 percent. Box trucks, flatbeds and dump trucks belonging to those contractors are part of what we buy, including a single unit that a one-person outfit ran from a home driveway.
Brevard County had 584 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and cattle, honey and potted flowering plants top its list. A livestock hauler, a straight truck for hives or a refrigerated box for nursery plants is welcome here; tell us the county road where it is kept and send a few photos of each side.
Florida title papers for an island seller
The owner’s name on the Florida title should match the person selling, and any lienholder listed on it needs to have released the loan before pickup. If the title has gone missing, Florida’s title agency issues a replacement, and the request is best started before you contact us.
Company-owned trucks need the signature of someone authorised to sell for the business. Keep the registration, the title and a photo ID together, and add the most recent annual inspection report if you hold one, so the sale closes in a single visit to the driveway or lot.
The questions we get asked in Indian Harbour Beach
- Our fuel tractor stays by the racks up at the cape; does it have to come down to the beach first? Those two terminals sit 17 and 18.1 miles north of town on Energy Information Administration listings, and we collect the tractor where it is parked up there. Pass along the yard’s street address and the name of whoever unlocks it up there.
- Can you collect a truck stored inside Patrick Space Force Base?Patrick Space Force Base lies 5.3 miles north per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, but its gates are controlled by the base, so move the truck to a public address outside the fence first and we will meet it there.
- Is a cattle pot that worked Brevard pastures something you take?Cattle leads the list for Brevard County’s 584 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and livestock trucks and trailers from those operations are vehicles we purchase. A VIN and a handful of pictures of the pot and tractor get it moving.
