Sand, stone and the roads out west
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Palm City Mine, a sand and gravel operation, 12.7 miles south-west of Jensen Beach, and the MC320 sand and gravel site at 17.6 miles in the same direction. A dump truck or tri-axle that has hauled out of either pit is a truck we collect; tell us whether it sits at the pit, at a yard in Palm City or in your driveway, and we plan the pickup around that spot.
Stone comes from further out. Fort Pierce Mine, a crushed-stone quarry, lies 16 miles west, Capron Trails Mine sits 24.2 miles north-west, and 1412 Canal Point, an industrial-mineral mine, is 19.2 miles south-west, all according to MSHA records. If your truck is parked at a quarry gate, send us the name of whoever controls the lot along with the VIN, so the collection can be arranged with them directly.
Tracks and a container ramp toward Fort Pierce
Two rail yards listed as FORT PIERCE and FT PIERCE stand 13.8 and 13.9 miles north-west of town on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs and yard tractors that shuttle freight to those tracks are on our list; photograph the cab, the frame and the fifth wheel, and keep the registration close at hand.
A little further on, at 14.4 miles, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Fort Pierce, FL rail intermodal ramp. A container chassis puller based near that ramp does not have to be driven back to Jensen Beach before you sell it. Give us the street address of the lot and a contact who can open the gate.
Jensen Beach haulers stay in Florida
Of the 62 active Jensen Beach carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, 51 keep their loads inside Florida, 11 operate interstate and 28 are private fleets moving their own goods. Twenty-four carry general freight, nine move machinery and large objects, eight haul motor vehicles and seven carry garbage and refuse. Whether yours is a rollback, a refuse packer or a straight truck, have the title and the last inspection report together before you call.
Drivers here mostly stay close to home; the same FMCSA census records 110 drivers working within 100 miles and 47 who go beyond that radius. Across the ten carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA, a truck logs a median of 14,333 miles a year. Note your odometer reading when you contact us, since it is the first figure we ask for.
From owner-operators to larger fleets
The three biggest fleets registered in town run 26, 19 and 10 power units, with 20, 18 and 8 drivers respectively, per the FMCSA carrier census. A fleet manager clearing several units can send one list of VINs with the location of each, and we work through them together rather than one call per truck.
If your operation is a new one that has now decided to sell, the title in your company’s name and the registration are what we need first; a lost title is replaced through the state’s title agency before the sale closes.
Construction crews and Martin County growers
Construction accounts for 377 of the 4,956 jobs counted in Jensen Beach in 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, or 7.6 percent, against 107 in transportation and warehousing and 53 in wholesale trade. Contractors’ offices number 96 construction establishments on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tally for Jensen Beach. Flatbeds, stake-bed trucks and dumps from a contractor’s yard are welcome; bring the service records you kept on them.
Martin County holds 588 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with foliage plants, cattle and potted flowering plants leading the list. Nursery box trucks and livestock haulers that have spent their lives on county farm roads are trucks we buy; tell us which property the truck is on and whether a gate code or escort is needed to reach it.
Treasure Coast pickup
Clear roads for a tow out
All seven bridges in Jensen Beach on the National Bridge Inventory carry no load posting, and none has clearance under 14 feet. A loaded tow rig can reach a truck anywhere in town without a detour around a weight-limited crossing.
What helps most is a precise location: the street address, which side of the building the truck sits on, and whether it is blocked in. Send photos of the cab and both sides along with the plate number.
The questions we get asked in Jensen Beach
- Can my tri-axle stay at the Palm City sand pit until you collect it?Palm City Mine sits 12.7 miles south-west of Jensen Beach on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and we collect from the pit itself. Send the pit name, a contact on site and the VIN.
- I run a small refuse or rollback outfit here. Do refuse packers and rollbacks from Jensen Beach qualify?Seven Jensen Beach carriers haul garbage and refuse and eight move motor vehicles, according to FMCSA’s carrier census, and those packers and rollbacks are trucks we purchase. Keep the packer’s or rollback’s title and Florida registration together for the first call.
- My Martin County truck title has gone missing; where do I get a new one?Trucks titled in Martin County get a replacement title through Florida’s state title agency. Start that request, tell us it is under way, and we can line up the rest of the sale in the meantime.
- Are there low bridges that block a tow truck in town? The National Bridge Inventory lists seven bridges in Jensen Beach, none load-posted and none under 14 feet of clearance, so the tow rig reaches the truck by the direct route.
