The petroleum terminal north-east of town
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal at Niceville, roughly 7 miles north-east of Lake Lorraine. A fuel tanker or bobtail that loads there may be parked at a yard by the terminal or back in town when we collect it, so give us the exact spot and who holds the gate key.
For a tank truck from the Niceville run, gather the title, the current registration and any tank inspection certificates before you contact us. Photos of the tank barrel, the valves and the cab, plus the VIN, let us line the paperwork up with the vehicle at the first conversation.
Sand pits west and north of town
Two mineral sites sit about the same distance from Lake Lorraine on Mine Safety and Health Administration records: River Road Pit, a sand and gravel operation 18 miles west, and the G2C Sand Mine, an industrial-mineral mine 18.3 miles north. Dump trucks, end dumps and aggregate haulers working those pits are part of what we take in.
A dump truck kept at either pit can stay there for collection; our driver goes out to the site instead of you bringing it into Lake Lorraine. Tell us which pit, whether a site contact must sign us in, and send a photo of the bed raised and the hoist so we know the body type before we arrive.
Eglin’s Okaloosa Island site and Moreno Point
According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Eglin AFB Site 4 installation on Okaloosa Island lies about 3.5 miles south of Lake Lorraine, and the Destin Moreno Point installation sits about 4.5 miles to the south-east. Service trucks, box trucks and flatbeds that have done contract work near either location can be sold from where they are kept in town.
A truck stored inside a controlled area cannot be reached by our driver without clearance, so move it to an open lot, your driveway or a shop in Lake Lorraine before the pickup date. Keep the registration and service records in the cab so they go out with the truck.
Lake Lorraine’s building trades
Construction work accounted for 118 of Lake Lorraine’s 2,061 jobs in 2023, a 5.7 percent slice, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Contractors’ dump trucks, stake beds and crew-cab utility trucks from that sector are trucks we buy outright from the owner.
Lake Lorraine’s contractors number 33 construction establishments by the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, and a truck titled to one of those firms is sold by the business itself. If you run one of those firms and are selling a truck titled to the business, have the company’s name exactly as printed on the title and a signer with authority over the vehicle ready.
Cotton fields, cattle and horse barns
Okaloosa County counted 444 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cotton, cattle and equine leading the list. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and flatbeds that move hay or horse trailers off those operations are welcome here.
A farm truck often sits in a barn lot or pasture rather than on a paved road. Send us the farm address, a note on whether a gate or soft ground sits between the road and the truck, and a photo showing the farm tag or registration so we can plan the collection.
Florida title and the Lake Lorraine paperwork
Florida titles are issued through the state’s title agency, and a lost title is replaced there before a sale can close. Start that request early if the original is missing, and tell us when you first reach out so we know where the paperwork stands.
Along with the title, a seller in Lake Lorraine should have the registration, any lien release if the truck was financed, and photos of all four sides, the dash and the VIN plate. With those in hand, most of our questions are already answered.
