Imperial Rock and neighbours
Stone and lime pits south-west of Malone
Imperial Rock Mine, a dimension-stone quarry, lies 10.6 miles south-west of Malone according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A dump truck or flatbed that has hauled cut stone from that site may be parked at a yard near the pit rather than in town, so give us the exact spot and say whether a loaded trailer is still attached.
Two more sites sit on the same south-western line: Jones Pit, a crushed-stone quarry 12.5 miles out, and USA Calcium, an industrial-mineral mine at 12.8 miles, both listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. If your tractor rotated between these pits, tell us which ones, and send photos of the bed, the hoist and the cab so we see the whole truck before we come.
Rocky Creek and the longer gravel runs
Farther down, ROCKY CREEK MINE AND MILL appears in the Mine Safety and Health Administration listings as a crushed-stone quarry 21.1 miles south of town. Trucks that work it may end the day closer to the mill than to Malone, and we can collect from either place once you share the address.
For a gravel hauler from that run, have the title in your name, the current registration and any service log you keep in the cab. Those three papers answer most of our first questions, and the VIN on the door jamb settles the rest.
Bales, feed and grain
Farm freight around Malone
Jackson County holds 942 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and around Malone the leading products are cotton, cattle and corn. A grain truck, a cattle hauler or a flatbed that moves round bales may live in a barn lot or a field edge, and we pick up there as easily as from a paved yard.
Five of the town’s motor carriers list grain, feed and hay as cargo and four list farm supplies, on figures from FMCSA’s carrier census. If your truck belongs to a farm operation that registered with FMCSA, bring the USDOT number along with the title; it ties the truck to the carrier record we look up.
Log trucks and general freight in a ten-carrier town
In Malone, FMCSA’s carrier census records 10 active motor carriers, with four hauling logs, poles, beams and lumber and five carrying general freight. A log truck with a knuckleboom or a stake-side hauler both fit what we buy, so send a photo of the loader or bunks alongside the tractor.
New registrations stay sparse: one carrier joined in 2024 and one more in 2025, by the federal motor carrier census. If you set up your outfit recently and are now selling its one truck, the title and the carrier paperwork from that registration are what we will ask to see.
Six home-state carriers, four crossing the line
Six of the local carriers run intrastate only, four cross state lines, and four are private fleets moving their own goods, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. A private-fleet truck carrying a farm or business name on the door is welcome; just make sure the title names the owner who will sign.
Federal records list seven drivers working inside a hundred-mile radius of their base and thirteen going beyond it. The median truck among five reporting carriers logs 46,000 miles a year, on FMCSA’s census. If your rig is out on a long run when you call, tell us when it will be back in Malone and we set the pickup for that day.
Two-truck and five-truck fleets
The biggest operation based here runs five power units with six drivers, and the next two run two units each, per FMCSA’s carrier census. Selling one tractor out of a fleet that size is routine for us; list each unit’s VIN if you plan to sell more than one.
For a small fleet, the person signing must be the one named on each title or hold authority for the company. Keep a business registration or a signed letter handy if the trucks are titled to an LLC rather than to you.
Duplicate titles through the tax collector
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles issues titles, and it handles duplicates through county tax collector service centers and license plate agents. A Malone owner whose certificate has gone missing should start at a Jackson County tax collector office and request the duplicate before we schedule collection.
If a lender is still listed on the title, ask that lender for a lien release and bring it with the certificate. With both in hand, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles records the transfer cleanly when ownership moves to us.
