Sand pits on the mainland side of Navarre Beach
River Road Pit, a sand and gravel operation the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 2.5 miles north-east of Navarre Beach, is the closest working site to the island. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that hauls from a pit like that often stays parked near the pit gate between loads, so tell us whether the truck sits there or at your house when you get in touch.
Farther out, Quikrete Mine is 16.2 miles north-west of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list of sand and gravel operations. If your truck has worked both pits, send photos of the bed, the hoist and the cab from all four sides, along with the VIN plate, and we can line up the pickup at whichever yard it calls home.
Trucks that serve NOLF Holley and Eglin’s island site
Two military installations appear close by in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records: NOLF Holley, 3.4 miles north, and Eglin AFB Site 2 Santa Rosa Island, 9.1 miles east along the island. Contractor flatbeds, water trucks and service bodies that work around installations like these can be sold from a contractor yard just as easily as from a driveway on the beach.
A truck that enters base property usually carries its own paperwork trail. Keep the registration, any gate or contractor documents, and whatever service records you hold together in the cab. If the truck cannot leave a secured lot, tell us up front and we will arrange gate access with you ahead of the visit.
Fuel terminals a twenty-mile run from the island
PENSACOLA TPSI, a petroleum product terminal in the Energy Information Administration’s listings, lies 19.8 miles west of Navarre Beach, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Trans Montaigne liquid bulk terminal at 19.9 miles in the same direction. Tank trucks and tractors pulling fuel trailers in and out of those gates are trucks we purchase.
For a tanker, gather the tank’s inspection and test records with the title before you call. Photos of the tank barrel, the valves and the data plate save a round of questions, and telling us whether the tractor and trailer are sold together or apart lets us plan one trip instead of two.
GOULDING and PENSACOLA yards past Gulf Breeze
Two rail yards sit just past the fuel terminals: GOULDING, 20.9 miles west of Navarre Beach, and PENSACOLA, 21.1 miles out, both mapped in the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. Drayage tractors and yard trucks that shuttle freight at those yards may never come back to the island at all.
If your tractor is parked at a terminal on the Pensacola side, give us the street address and the name of whoever can open the gate. We collect from where the truck is; it does not need to cross the bridge east to Navarre Beach first.
Haulers on the Navarre Beach payroll
In 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 675 jobs in Navarre Beach, and 63 of them, or 9.3 percent, sat in transportation and warehousing. Owner-operators and small fleets in that slice of the island’s workforce are exactly the sellers we hear from.
If you run a single box truck or a few tractors out of a home base here, list each unit’s VIN, make, model year and where it parks. A short list like that lets us look at every truck at once rather than one phone call per vehicle.
Cotton, cattle and horse trailers north of the bridge
Up the county from Navarre Beach, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 732 farms in Santa Rosa County, with cotton, cattle and equine named as the top products. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and the tractors that pull horse trailers on those farms are welcome here too.
A farm truck often has a title that has sat in a drawer for years. Find it, check that the name on it matches yours, and photograph the truck where it is parked on the property; we will bring the pickup to the farm gate.
Replacing a misplaced title at the tax collector’s Gulf Breeze suite
Titles in Florida are issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and the closest office it lists to Navarre Beach is the Santa Rosa County motor vehicle service center - Gulf Breeze, at 5841 Gulf Breeze Parkway, (Highway 98), Suite B, Gulf Breeze, 32563, 5.4 miles away. It is one of the county tax collector service centers and license plate agents that handle titles for the department.
Bring your photo ID and the vehicle’s VIN to that counter to apply for a duplicate if the original is lost. If a lender still shows on the title, ask the lienholder for a release before you visit, so the replacement comes back clear in your name.
The questions we get asked in Navarre Beach
- Can my dump truck be collected straight from River Road Pit?River Road Pit sits 2.5 miles north-east of Navarre Beach on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and a dump truck parked there can be collected right from the pit, with the operator’s permission to enter.
- My truck’s title vanished during a move to the island; who reissues it?The Santa Rosa County motor vehicle service center - Gulf Breeze, 5.4 miles from town at 5841 Gulf Breeze Parkway, handles titles for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles; bring ID and the VIN.
- My tractor works the Pensacola fuel terminals; can you collect it there instead of on Santa Rosa Island?PENSACOLA TPSI and Trans Montaigne are both close to twenty miles west of Navarre Beach, and we collect from the terminal yard or wherever the tractor is parked; there is no need to bring it east.
- Do you buy farm trucks from inland Santa Rosa County?Santa Rosa County’s 732 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture include cotton, cattle and horse operations, and grain trucks, livestock haulers and trailer tractors from any of them are trucks we purchase.
