Northdale’s building trades and their trucks
Construction holds 784 of Northdale’s 6,520 jobs, or 12 percent, in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023. Dump trucks, flatbeds and stake bodies that carry block, lumber or fill for those crews are the kind of vehicle we collect from homes and contractor yards here. Note the body type and the builder plate on it when you get in touch; the upfit matters to us as much as the chassis.
That same LEHD tally counts 81 transportation and warehousing jobs, 71 in wholesale trade and 58 in manufacturing within Northdale. A box truck or reefer kept at home by an owner-operator who delivers across Hillsborough County fits right alongside the construction rigs. Photograph the cargo box inside and out, plus the liftgate or refrigeration unit if it has one, and send those with the cab shots.
If your work truck sits on a residential street or behind a house instead of at a terminal, tell us whether there is room for a tow rig or lowboy to line up beside yours, and whether an HOA or gate code applies, so the pickup crew arrives with the right equipment.
Tank work toward the Tampa terminals
About 11.9 miles south-east of Northdale, the Energy Information Administration lists two petroleum product terminals, Tampa North and Tampa Pt Ybor FL Asphalt. Tankers loading fuel or hot asphalt there for paving jobs across the county are trucks we buy whether they are tractors with trailers or straight trucks. Keep the tank’s inspection and test certificates with the title, since they record what the barrel has hauled.
Slightly further, at 12.4 and 13 miles, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics shows the Transflo CSXT and CITGO Petroleum Corporation liquid bulk terminals. If your tractor pulled liquid loads out of either, list the products it carried and any placards still on the trailer. We can collect a tractor alone, a trailer alone, or the pair together.
Rail yards, an intermodal ramp and a grinding plant
Port Tampa, 11.9 miles out, and UCETA, at 13.2 miles, are the two rail yards the North American Rail Network records toward the south-east of Northdale. Day cabs that shuttle between those yards and warehouses elsewhere in the county are a regular fit for us. Have the registration current, or tell us the date it lapsed, so the paperwork matches the truck.
A container chassis or a tractor working the Tampa, FL rail intermodal ramp sits about 13.3 miles away, per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Send us the VIN and the odometer reading first; from those we can look up the engine and transmission ourselves and keep the remaining questions short.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Tampa Cement Grinding Plant 12.8 miles south-east. Bulk pneumatic tankers and mixer trucks that load there for jobsites around Northdale are welcome. Mention the drum or tank make, and add photos of the controls and chutes, so we see the whole unit.
Nursery, cattle and water-plant haulers
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,992 farms in Hillsborough County, with aquatic plants, cattle and transplants leading its list. Cattle haulers, stake trucks moving nursery stock and the straight trucks that carry water plants to growers all belong in the mix we pick up. If the truck sits in a pasture or a nursery row, tell us the ground conditions so we bring the right tow rig.
Farm-plated trucks are fine to sell. Find the title and the current registration card before we schedule a visit. If the title has gone missing, apply for a duplicate through the state’s title agency first; the sale goes ahead on the duplicate once it arrives.
Getting ready
What a Northdale seller should gather
Put the title, the registration and any service or inspection records in one folder, and note the names of everyone listed on the title. A lien holder shown on the title will need to sign a release, so ask your lender for that letter early.
Photos do the most work: all four sides, the cab interior, the dash with the key on, the frame rails and any body or tank. Send them with the address where the truck is parked in or around Northdale. We collect it at that spot.
The questions we get asked in Northdale
- My dump truck hauls for builders around Northdale. Would you take it off my hands?Construction accounts for 784 of Northdale’s 6,520 jobs in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, and the dump trucks those crews use are squarely what we purchase. Photograph the bed raised on its hoist and include the VIN with those shots.
- My tanker loads at the Tampa North terminal but I park it at home. Which address do you pick up from?Tampa North sits about 11.9 miles south-east of Northdale on the Energy Information Administration’s list, and we come to whichever spot the tanker is parked, home or terminal lot. Tell us who controls access at that address.
- I run cattle on a Hillsborough County property. Will you take a livestock hauler?Cattle ranks among the top products of Hillsborough County’s 1,992 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and livestock trucks and trailers from those operations are ones we take. Have the title and registration ready, along with photos of the floor and gates.
