Day cabs between the Taft and Orlando yards
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places the Taft yard 3.6 miles south-east of Oak Ridge and the Orlando yard 4.1 miles north-east. A tractor that shuttles boxes or loads between those two yards may still be parked at a lot close to either one. Give us the lot’s street address and the name of whoever holds the gate key, and the pickup can be set up around that yard.
Before you call about a day cab from the Taft or Orlando side, have the title in your own name, the current Florida registration and the VIN written down. Photos of the cab, the frame rails and each axle, taken where the truck now sits, let us see it without anyone driving it across town.
Petroleum and liquid bulk terminals near Oak Ridge
An Orlando petroleum product terminal stands 4.4 miles south-east of town on the Energy Information Administration’s list, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records the Heniff liquid bulk terminal 5.5 miles to the north. Tractors that pull tank trailers between such terminals are trucks we buy, with or without the trailer behind them.
If your rig loaded at the Orlando terminal or at Heniff, keep its tank and terminal paperwork together: annual inspection sheets, hazmat endorsement records for the unit, and service logs. Send them along with the title so the file on the truck is complete when we first look at it.
Wholesale and warehouse jobs in the area
Wholesale trade holds 1,804 of the 10,170 jobs located in Oak Ridge, or 17.7 percent, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023. Box trucks, reefers and day cabs that move goods out of wholesale buildings are all units we buy.
That same 2023 LEHD release counts 541 transportation and warehousing jobs, 727 in manufacturing and 344 in construction. Whether yours is a straight truck from a warehouse dock or a dump body off a building site, tell us the body type, the GVWR on the door sticker and where it is stored.
Naval installations east and north-east
Two military installations appear in Bureau of Transportation Statistics records near here: the NG Orlando Naval Training Center 5.1 miles east and the Naval Logistics Support Annex Orlando 15.4 miles north-east. If a truck you own is kept on or beside a secured base, tell us early who can sign us in.
Share a phone number for that person along with the truck’s location. If you have moved away from the Orlando area and left the vehicle near either installation, you can still sign the paperwork from wherever you live.
Four Corners and Center Sand pits
Sixteen and a half miles west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Four Corners Sand Mine, with Center Sand Company 16.6 miles out in that same direction. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors hauling sand from those pits back toward Orange County are part of what we purchase.
If the truck sits inside a mine gate, check with the site operator before we arrange a visit. Photograph the dump body, the hoist and the tag plate, and keep the title and any MSHA site paperwork with the registration.
Foliage and potted plant farms in Orange County
Orange County has 600 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and its leading products are foliage plants, propagative material and potted flowering plants. Box trucks and reefer straight trucks that carry live plants are units we buy.
For a nursery truck, note whether the refrigeration unit has its own hour meter and include a photo of it with the reading showing. A grower’s lot can be hard to find from the road, so add directions or a pin when you send the address.
