Okaloosa Island to the south-east, Hurlburt to the west
Eglin AFB Site 4 on Okaloosa Island lies 4.9 miles south-east of Ocean City, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your truck sits in a yard near the island causeway, tell us the street and any gate hours, and we will set the collection around access to that lot.
Hurlburt Field is 5.5 miles west, a distance the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records in its list of military installations. Contractor trucks that have hauled onto base work often carry a gate pass history or a site log; keep those with the title, as a record of where the truck has worked that photographs cannot give.
Loading racks up the road at Niceville
Nine miles north-east, the Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal at Niceville. Tank trucks and fuel delivery units that load there are among the trucks we purchase, and the plate on the tank, the last inspection sticker and the VIN are the three details to send first.
A tanker that has finished its terminal work can stay parked near Niceville while you arrange the sale from Ocean City. Give us the exact yard, the name of whoever holds the keys, and a photo of the tank’s data plate, and the pickup gets planned from there.
Pit haulage
Sand pits west and north of Ocean City
River Road Pit, a sand and gravel site the Mine Safety and Health Administration registers 15.5 miles west of Ocean City, draws dump work off the county roads. Dump trucks, end dumps and tri-axles that haul out of a pit like that are welcome here; photograph the bed, the tailgate and the hoist along with the cab so the pictures match your description.
Further out, G2C Sand Mine sits 18.9 miles north on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register of industrial-mineral mines. If your dump truck is still parked at a pit gate or a contractor lot up that road, it can be collected where it stands, as long as someone can meet us or leave the keys.
Contractor fleets
Ocean City’s construction trade by the LEHD count
For 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 1,937 jobs in Ocean City, and 271 of them, a 14 percent share, are in construction. Flatbeds, stake bodies, box trucks and dump units from that trade are the kind of equipment a contractor here may be ready to sell.
Selling a work truck off a construction business goes smoothly when the paperwork is in one place: the Florida title in the company’s name, current registration, and any service records you have kept. If the title is lost, Florida’s title agency issues a duplicate, and the sale can wait for it.
County cotton and cattle
Cotton, cattle and horses across Okaloosa County
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 444 farms in Okaloosa County, with cotton, cattle and equine leading its list. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and the tractors that pull horse trailers all fit what we buy from owners in the county.
A farm truck often sits in a barn or a field rather than on a paved lot. Let us know whether the ground is firm, whether a gate needs opening, and where the title is kept; a collection off a cattle or horse property is arranged with those answers in hand.
