Sand to the south-east
Pit trucks between Weirsdale and Lisbon
Six and a half miles south-east of Ocklawaha, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Weirsdale Sand Plant as a sand and gravel operation. A dump truck or tractor that hauls from those pits is often parked near the plant road between loads, so tell us whether ours is the Weirsdale end or the Ocklawaha end when you send the address.
Lisbon Sand, another sand and gravel site in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 15.6 miles out in the same south-easterly direction. If your truck splits its week between Lisbon and Weirsdale, pick the yard where it spends nights and give us a contact who can unlock the gate there.
Sand haulers on this stretch tend to have a trailer or body that matters as much as the tractor. Photograph the dump body, the tailgate and the hydraulic lines along with the cab and the VIN plate, and say whether the trailer is part of the sale.
Aggregate loads off the north-west quarry road
NORTH MINE, a crushed-stone quarry recorded by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, is 11.3 miles north-west of town, and Stavola NW Pit sits farther along that line at 20.6 miles. Aggregate trucks running that corridor toward Ocklawaha can be collected at either quarry gate or at your home address, whichever is easier for you.
Quarry sites usually keep their own scale tickets and site-entry records. Keep any of that paperwork you still hold in the cab folder with the registration; it tells us which sites the truck served before we arrive.
Cement and minerals south
Bulk trailers bound for Sumterville cement
Roughly 21.7 miles south, the Sumterville Cement Plant appears in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records, with the Okahumpka industrial-mineral mine just short of it at 21.4 miles. Bulk tankers and pneumatic trailers that serve those two sites are the kind of equipment we buy, so list the trailer type and the hitch setup when you reach out.
Rail traffic meets the road at WILDWOOD, a yard 13.9 miles south-west that the North American Rail Network from the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records. If your tractor has shuttled loads to and from that yard, tell us where it is parked now; we collect from the yard side or from your driveway in Ocklawaha.
Car haulers, flatbeds and hay rigs on the town register
Out of 53 active carriers with an Ocklawaha address, FMCSA’s carrier census tags 28 as general-freight haulers, the rest spread across specialised loads. Ten carry motor vehicles, six move grain, feed and hay, and six handle machinery and large objects, so car haulers, flatbeds and lowboys are as likely here as box trucks.
Of those carriers, FMCSA’s carrier census shows 43 hauling only inside Florida and 10 crossing state lines. The same FMCSA census counts 24 private fleets moving their own goods, so the truck you sell may be kept at a shop or a farm rather than a terminal.
Fleets here stay small; the leading entries in FMCSA’s carrier census run two power units each, with two or three drivers. If you own one or two trucks and want to sell one, have the title in the name shown on the registration and a phone number for whoever keeps the keys.
Seventy-nine drivers on two kinds of route
Ocklawaha’s drivers split almost evenly by distance: per FMCSA’s carrier census, 38 work inside a hundred-mile radius and 41 go beyond it. A truck that runs long hauls may be away when you contact us, so tell us the date it comes home to Marion County.
Eight carriers here reported mileage, and FMCSA’s carrier census puts their median at 7,209 miles a truck. Have the odometer reading and the VIN ready on your first message; those two figures shape every other question we ask.
Nine carriers registered in Ocklawaha in 2025 and two in 2024, per FMCSA’s carrier census; if your authority is that recent, keep the new registration and title together for pickup day.
Equine and cattle hauling around Ocklawaha
Ocklawaha’s surrounding county counts 3,329 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with equine, cattle and foliage plants as its top lines. Livestock trailers, hay trucks and nursery box trucks from those farms are welcome, and we pick them up from the barn or pasture where they stand.
Farm trucks often carry agricultural plates or sit unregistered for part of the year. Send a photo of whatever plate and registration the truck has, plus the title, so we can see how it is listed before collection.
A Summerfield counter for duplicate titles
Titles in this state are issued by one agency that works through county tax collector service centers and license plate agents. For Ocklawaha owners, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles lists the Marion County motor vehicle service center - Summerfield, at 17860 SE 109th Ave., Suite #602, Summerfield, 34491, about 6.1 miles from town.
If the title is missing, start a duplicate at that Summerfield counter before we schedule pickup, and bring the registration and your ID. If a lender still holds a lien, ask the lender for its release first, since the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles needs it to issue a clean title.
