Carriers based in On Top of the World
FMCSA’s carrier census lists 93 active carriers in On Top of the World, and 60 of them mark general freight as cargo they carry. If your tractor or box truck has spent its years on mixed loads, have the title and current registration together before you call, since those two documents settle ownership before anything else is discussed.
Twelve local carriers tell FMCSA’s carrier census they move machinery and large objects, 11 carry motor vehicles, and 9 haul logs, poles, beams or lumber. A lowboy tractor, a car hauler or a log truck from one of those outfits is a truck we collect, and photos of the trailer coupling, the deck and the cab help us see which setup you have.
Only 3 carriers here signed up with FMCSA in 2024, then 10 joined in 2025, its carrier census shows. If you started hauling recently and are now stepping back, a short ownership history still sells; send the VIN and the date you bought the truck.
Small outfits and one larger fleet
The largest fleet on record in FMCSA’s carrier census here runs 47 power units with 45 drivers, and the next two run 5 and 4. Whether you are selling one tractor or several units from a yard, list each VIN separately so every truck is matched to its own title.
Of the local carriers, 62 operate intrastate only and 30 run interstate, according to FMCSA’s carrier census, and 27 are private fleets hauling their own goods. A truck that crossed state lines may carry IFTA decals and an apportioned plate; leave them on and tell us which states the plate covers.
Driver records in FMCSA’s carrier census put 62 drivers inside a 100-mile radius and 136 beyond it. If your rig is out on a long run right now, tell us where it will be parked when it comes home, and we plan the collection for that spot.
Crushed stone and mineral pits around the community
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 328 Pit, a crushed-stone quarry 7.4 miles north-west, and NORTH MINE, another crushed-stone operation 11.7 miles east. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that cycle to those pits can be picked up at the quarry gate or a home driveway; give us the gate contact if it sits on a site.
Further out, Manko Co Sec 5 Mine/Phos lies 13.2 miles south-west and Ocala Quarry 18.3 miles north, both industrial-mineral mines on the Mine Safety and Health Administration register. If your truck hauled from either one, send any scale tickets or maintenance logs you kept along with your photos.
Construction accounts for 486 of the 1,798 jobs located here in 2023, a 27 percent share by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. For a dump body, mixer or flatbed that worked those job sites, note the body make and length when you contact us.
A south-east rail yard, and horse and cattle ground
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places the WILDWOOD rail yard 22.2 miles south-east. A day cab that shuttled to that yard is collected wherever it now sits, so send the street address and say whether a tow truck can reach it.
Horses top the list across 3,329 Marion County farms, ahead of cattle and foliage plants, in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Horse-trailer tractors, livestock haulers and nursery straight trucks parked on farm ground are all trucks we buy; tell us whether the gate is locked and who can open it.
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau records 31 construction establishments in On Top of the World. If a contractor is closing out equipment, have the business name on the title match the person signing, or bring the paperwork that shows you can sign for the company.
Inspection records and model years here
Roadside inspection records kept by FMCSA cover 59 trucks from local carriers checked between September 2024 and August 2026, with a median model year of 2018 and 45.76 percent ten or more years old. Whatever the year on your title, send the year, make and model with the VIN so our questions start in the right place.
For the 25 carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA’s carrier census, the median is 62,500 miles a truck. Read the odometer and photograph it with the dash lit, then include that picture with your shots of the exterior.
