Two quarries and a cement plant within five miles
White Rock Quarries, a crushed-stone operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register, lies 4.2 miles west of Palm Springs North. If your dump truck or end-dump trailer has been hauling rock out of that pit, it may still be parked on the quarry side of town when you call. Give us the gate it sits behind and a name to ask for there, and we plan the collection around the quarry’s hours.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists FEC Quarry 4.3 miles south-west of town and the Pennsuco Cement Plant 4.6 miles out in the same direction. Bulk cement tankers, mixers and tri-axle dumps that shuttle between a cement kiln and a stone pit are all trucks we buy. Photograph the drum or the bed, the frame rails and the cab, then send the pictures with the VIN so we know which unit we are looking at.
Drayage between Hialeah yards and the Miami ramp
According to the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, CSX runs a Hialeah yard 6.8 miles south-east of here, and Florida East Coast keeps its own Hialeah yard 7.9 miles to the south. If your day cab drays boxes between those two rail sites, tell us whether yours is kept at a yard, a terminal lot or your own driveway.
Seven miles south, the Miami intermodal ramp appears in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics listing of rail-to-truck transfer points. A tractor that has spent its life pulling chassis off that ramp can be sold without moving it anywhere. Keep the registration and title with the cab, and have the odometer reading ready for the first call.
Tankers and the Guard
A liquid bulk terminal and a Guard site nearby
Norfolk Southern TBT, a liquid bulk terminal, is placed 8.4 miles south-east of Palm Springs North by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Tank tractors and the trailers they pull from a liquids dock are on our list. Bring any loading-rack inspection sheets or tank test records you hold and send them with the photos.
Just 2.5 miles to the north-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the NG Snake Creek training site at Miramar, a military installation. Former contractors who ran supply or support trucks there can sell them to us the same way as any other owner. What we need is the title in your name, or the business’s, and a working phone number for whoever can unlock the truck.
Construction carries a quarter of the jobs here
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 put 493 jobs in Palm Springs North, and 135 of them, or 27.4 percent, fall under construction. Contractors who keep a dump truck, a flatbed or a stake-bed in the driveway between jobs are exactly the sellers we hear from in a place this size. Send a few clear photos and the year, make and model to get started.
Box trucks, service bodies and utility rigs that work those trades are also trucks we purchase. If the truck is titled to a company, have someone who can sign for that company available when we arrange the pickup.
Reefers for the county’s foliage and flower farms
Miami-Dade County counted 2,664 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the county’s leading products listed there are foliage plants, potted flowering plants and cut flowers with cultivated greens. Reefer box trucks and refrigerated trailers that carry plants from county growers are trucks we buy. Note the make and hours of the refrigeration unit when you contact us, alongside the truck’s own details.
Nursery stake trucks and flatbeds often sit at the grower’s property rather than at a yard. Should your truck be parked on a farm somewhere in Miami-Dade, give us the address and a contact who can open the gate, and we collect it from there while you handle the sale by phone and email.
