Stone out of Krome, SDI and the Miami cement works
The Mine Safety and Health Administration places Krome Quarry, a crushed-stone operation, 5.8 miles north-west of Richmond West, with SDI Aggregates LLC another crushed-stone site 13.2 miles to the south. If your dump truck or tractor has spent its shifts hauling stone out of either pit, tell us which one when you first get in touch, and send pictures of the body, the cab and the VIN plate together.
Twelve miles north, at 12.2 by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, stands the Miami Cement Plant, and Epic Stoneworks, Inc. cuts dimension stone 12.9 miles to the north-east on that agency’s records. A mixer, bulk tanker or flatbed that has worked those sites can stay parked at the yard it runs from; give us the yard address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Construction accounts for 269 of the 2,668 jobs based in Richmond West, or 10.1 percent, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023. The Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns lists 55 construction establishments around Richmond West. If your truck belongs to one of those contractors and is titled to the business, have the officer who can sign for the company available on the day of collection.
Containers, cement sidings and the base south of town
PortMiami is listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics at 4.3 miles from Richmond West. A day cab that has pulled containers off the port can be collected from wherever it now sits, whether that is a home driveway off the turnpike or a drop lot; send us the plate number, the VIN and the exact address.
On the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the GENERAL CEMENT rail yard lies 7.4 miles north-west and HIALEAH (FEC) sits 16.5 miles north-east. Tractors that shuttle between those rail sidings and local job sites usually live on a fenced lot, so tell us who manages access before we schedule anything.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics also shows Homestead ARB, a military installation, 7.6 miles south of town. If the truck is parked on or near the base, confirm whether a pass is needed to reach it so the pickup plan accounts for the checkpoint.
General freight, reefers and car haulers on FMCSA’s books
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 420 active motor carriers registered in Richmond West, and 256 of them list general freight among what they carry. If you run one of those operations, put the USDOT number in your first message along with the VIN; both let us match the truck to its registration straight away.
Motor vehicles are hauled by 44 local carriers, fresh produce by another 44 and refrigerated food by 43, per that same FMCSA census. Reefer units and car haulers are welcome; photograph the trailer and the refrigeration unit or the deck, plus the hour meter if it has one, and attach any service records you have kept.
Of those carriers, the FMCSA census marks 321 as intrastate, 98 as interstate and 102 as private fleets hauling their own goods. An interstate truck may carry apportioned plates and IFTA decals, so let us know which credentials are on the cab and whether you intend to keep the plate.
How old, how far and how big south Dade fleets run
Between 2024-08-29 and 2026-08-25, FMCSA roadside inspection records logged 293 trucks belonging to Richmond West carriers; their median model year was 2014, and 58.4 percent were at least ten model years old. Whatever the year on your title, read the VIN off the door jamb and check that it matches the paperwork before you contact us.
For the 99 Richmond West carriers that report mileage to FMCSA, the typical truck covers 25,870 miles in a year. Note the current odometer reading and send a picture of the dash, so the figure on the title transfer is correct.
Local fleets reach 30 power units with 30 drivers at the top end, followed by one with 28 units and 12 drivers and another with 27 units and 25 drivers, the carrier census from FMCSA shows. If you are selling several trucks from a fleet that size, send a list of VINs and where each one is parked, and we will plan collection unit by unit.
Growing in Dade
Nurseries, farms and new operators
Miami-Dade County holds 2,664 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, led by foliage plants, potted flowering plants, and cut flowers with cultivated greens. A box truck or reefer that moves plants out of those nurseries is often kept at the grower’s property, so tell us whether the truck is on farm ground and how a flatbed or tow rig can reach it.
New registrations in FMCSA’s carrier census added 39 carriers in 2024 and 36 in 2025 in Richmond West. If you started an operation recently and are stepping away from it, have your registration and the title in the business name or your own name ready, and tell us whose name is on each.
The LEHD job counts from the Census Bureau put 135 Richmond West jobs in wholesale trade, 72 in manufacturing and 64 in transportation and warehousing in 2023. Delivery trucks from those employers can be collected at the business itself; give us the loading area and the hours someone is on site.
What to have ready before collection
FMCSA’s carrier census records 372 local drivers working within 100 miles and 469 who go beyond 100 miles. A truck that runs long routes may be away from Richmond West when you reach us; tell us where it will be parked when it is back, and we collect it there.
Have the title, current registration and a photo ID ready. If the title is lost, tell us at the start and we will walk you through replacing it with Florida’s title agency before collection. A lien on the truck is fine too; send the lender’s name so the lien release can be arranged.
