Sand pits on the Vero side
Vero Rock and Sand, a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 5.1 miles south of Sebastian, and Blue Goose Mine, another sand and gravel site, sits 5.9 miles south. A dump truck or tractor that loads at either pit is usually parked near home in Sebastian or out at the pit yard; tell us which, with a street address or the pit gate, and we arrange the collection there.
Further down, Capron Trails Mine is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration as a crushed-stone quarry 18.1 miles south. If your aggregate truck stays on a quarry property between shifts, ask the site office who can let a collection driver through before you call us, and pass that name on with the VIN.
Brisbane Pit and the inland routes
Brisbane Pit, an industrial-mineral mine 9.9 miles west according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, draws trucks away from the coast toward the county’s farm roads. Photograph the cab, the frame and the bed or trailer in daylight where the truck stands, and send the pictures with the registration so we can see the same truck you describe.
Indian River County had 492 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the leading products there were aquatic plants, cattle and equine. A livestock hauler, horse trailer rig or farm flatbed kept on rural acreage can be sold from that spot; give us the gate code or the owner’s phone number and the title in your name.
Car haulers, reefers and roll-offs on the census
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 87 active carriers based in Sebastian, with 32 listing general freight, 10 motor vehicles, 10 fresh produce and 9 garbage, refuse and trash. A car hauler, a reefer that has carried produce, or a roll-off from a refuse route all fit what we buy; tell us the body type and trailer length when you first get in touch.
Of those carriers, 70 run intrastate and 16 interstate, and 34 operate as private fleets hauling their own goods, according to the same FMCSA census. If the truck belongs to a business rather than to you personally, have the company’s name on the title match the person signing, or bring a letter from the owner authorising the sale.
If you started an outfit in Sebastian recently and are stepping back from it, gather the title, the current registration and any loan payoff letter before we talk.
Twenty-one units at the top, one-truck outfits below
The biggest fleet registered in Sebastian under FMCSA’s census runs 21 power units with 20 drivers; the next two run 4 and 3 units with 7 drivers each. Whether you are selling one tractor or several from a small yard, list each VIN and where each unit is parked so we can plan the pickups together.
Thirty-one Sebastian trucks stopped for roadside checks from November 2024 to August 2026 show a median model year of 2020 in FMCSA roadside inspection records, and 16.13 percent of them were built ten or more years earlier. Have the model year, engine make and odometer reading ready for whichever truck you are selling, along with any service records you kept.
Among nine carriers that reported mileage, the median was 42,145 miles per truck in FMCSA’s census, and drivers split 207 within 100 miles of base and 198 beyond it. A truck that comes home to Sebastian most nights is easy to meet at the house; one out on a longer run can be collected once it is back, at the address you give us.
Building trades and wholesale jobs
Construction accounted for 673 of Sebastian’s 4,605 jobs in 2023, or 14.6 percent, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, while wholesale trade held 196 and manufacturing 81. Contractors who keep a dump truck, a flatbed or a box truck at a job site can sell it from there; send us the site address and the name of whoever is on the gate.
Ninety-eight construction businesses operate in the area on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. If a truck is titled to a contracting company, check that the business name on the Florida title matches your registration exactly, and if the title is lost, get a replacement from Florida’s title agency before the sale.
