Aggregate pits west and south-east of the Shores
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists NORTH MINE, a crushed-stone quarry, 5 miles west of Silver Springs Shores, and Stavola NW Pit, another crushed-stone quarry, 14 miles to the north-west. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has hauled aggregate from either pit can stay parked at the yard or the driveway where it sits now; send us that address and the gate contact.
South-east of town, the Weirsdale Sand Plant is 13 miles out and Lisbon Sand is 22.2 miles out, both sand and gravel operations on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records. If your truck worked those runs, photograph the bed, the tailgate and the VIN plate, and say which plant it served so our questions start from the right place.
Ocala Quarry, an industrial-mineral mine 23.3 miles north-west according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, rounds out the list. Owners whose trucks hauled from there should have the title in hand and the registration current before we schedule collection.
Haulers registered along the Shores
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 243 active carriers based in Silver Springs Shores, with 180 of them intrastate and 63 interstate. For the Florida-only operators, keep the in-state registration and any annual inspection report together with the title; both go with the truck at pickup.
Of those carriers, 48 run private fleets moving their own goods, per the same FMCSA census. A company truck sold this way needs someone authorised to sign the title for the business, so name that person when you first contact us.
New registrations keep arriving: FMCSA’s carrier census shows 22 carriers added here in 2025 and 17 in 2024. A newer operator selling a tractor bought on finance should name the lienholder at the start and keep the lien release with the title.
Cargo hauled from Marion County addresses
General freight leads the cargo list, with 163 local carriers claiming it in FMCSA’s census, followed by motor vehicles at 40. Dry van tractors and car haulers both fit what we buy; list the trailer separately if it is part of the sale.
Logs, poles, beams and lumber appear on 33 carrier registrations, and metal sheets, coils and rolls on 28, according to FMCSA. Flatbed and log trucks are welcome; send photos of the deck, the stakes or bunks and the cab with your first message.
How far drivers here range
FMCSA’s census records 181 drivers working within 100 miles of base and 203 who go beyond that radius. Wherever the truck finished its last trip, whether a local yard or a terminal out of state, give us its exact location and we arrange collection there.
A typical Shores truck covers 39,932 miles a year, the median across the 50 carriers that report mileage to FMCSA. Read the odometer off the dash and send it with the VIN, since those two figures anchor every other question we ask.
The three biggest fleets based here run 18, 17 and 14 power units, the carrier census shows. An owner selling several units at once can send one list of VINs and locations instead of separate requests.
Roadside checks of Shores tractors
Roadside inspection records from FMCSA covered 101 trucks tied to Silver Springs Shores carriers between September 2024 and August 2026, and their median model year was 2014. For a 2014 tractor or any other year, we read the model year straight off your Florida title.
That same set of FMCSA inspections puts 57.4 percent of those trucks at ten or more model years old. Keep any service records you hold in one folder with the title, so the paperwork for an older unit is ready when we arrive.
Plant jobs, contractors and horse farms
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 show 2,771 jobs in Silver Springs Shores, with manufacturing holding 1,038 of them, construction 157 and transportation and warehousing 65. Box trucks and straight trucks from plant deliveries belong in the same conversation as tractors.
Sixty-eight construction firms operate in the Shores, by the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tally. A contractor with a dump truck, a stake bed or a tractor that pulled an equipment trailer can sell it from the job yard rather than moving it first.
Across Marion County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 3,329 farms, with equine, cattle and foliage plants as the top categories. Livestock haulers, horse-trailer tractors and nursery delivery trucks off those farms can be collected at the farm gate; describe the farm lane and where on the property the truck is parked.
The questions we get asked in Silver Springs Shores
- My dump truck sits near NORTH MINE west of town; must I haul it somewhere first?NORTH MINE is 5 miles west of Silver Springs Shores on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and the truck can stay wherever it is parked out there. Send the quarry-side address plus a name for whoever unlocks that yard.
- Will you pick up a tractor left at the Wildwood rail yard?Wildwood’s rail yard is 17 miles south of town on the North American Rail Network, and collection can happen at the yard. Name the company that controls that Wildwood lot and we coordinate the visit through them.
- Our Shores company trucks carry only our own goods; is selling one handled differently?FMCSA’s carrier census lists 48 private fleets in Silver Springs Shores, and selling one of their trucks works the same way. The person signing the title must be authorised to sign for the company.
- Which papers should a horse farm or quarry hauler near Silver Springs Shores gather?Marion County owners, including those on the county’s 3,329 farms counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, should have the title, current registration and any lien release ready. Service and inspection records help too, along with photos of the cab, frame and VIN.
