Building-site trucks from east Orange County
Building trades fill 248 of Union Park’s 1,218 jobs, a 20.4 percent slice of the 2023 total in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts.
Wholesale trade adds 64 jobs here, a 5.3 percent share in that same 2023 LEHD release. Box trucks and straight trucks running distribution routes out of Union Park fit our list too; have the title in hand and note the body length and liftgate, if there is one, before you send us photos.
If your work truck sits at a jobsite rather than your driveway, give us the street address and a name of whoever can let us onto the site. Collection happens where the truck is parked, so there is no need to move it to your home first.
Naval and Army installations east of town
Naval Logistics Support Annex Orlando lies 2.8 miles east of Union Park, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and the Army Research Lab’s Orlando Simulations and Training Technology Center sits the same 2.8 miles away to the north-east.
Trucks parked near either installation may be behind a controlled gate. Before we schedule a pickup, check what access rules apply where your truck is kept and tell us, so the driver arrives with whatever the gate requires.
Retired service members and contractors who have relocated can still sell a truck left behind here. Keep the Florida title, current registration and any service log together, and name a local contact who can hand over the keys.
Rail yards and liquid bulk terminals
Federal Railroad Administration and Bureau of Transportation Statistics mapping in the North American Rail Network shows two yards on Union Park’s west flank: ORLANDO at 9.2 miles and TAFT at 11.3 miles toward the south-west. Day cabs that shuttle freight to and from those yards are a fit for us; send the VIN and the odometer reading first.
Heniff, a liquid bulk terminal, is 9.6 miles west on Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings, and Transflo CSXT, another liquid bulk site, is 16.9 miles north. Tractors that pulled tank trailers between those terminals are welcome; tell us which trailer types they hauled and include any terminal inspection reports you kept.
Southwest of town, the Energy Information Administration records the ORLANDO petroleum product terminal 12.9 miles away. Fuel-hauling tractors based near that terminal can be collected from the yard where they sit, as long as someone there can confirm the release.
A crushed-stone quarry to the south-east
S & L Materials Inc runs a crushed-stone quarry 14.9 miles south-east of Union Park, per the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Dump trucks and tri-axles that haul stone out of that quarry to Orange County sites are squarely within what we purchase.
For a quarry truck, photograph the bed, the hoist and the cab from both sides, and list the axle configuration. If the truck is still parked at the quarry, tell us so and give us a site contact to arrange entry.
Seventeen spans, one with a posted limit
Seventeen bridges fall within the Union Park area in the National Bridge Inventory kept by the Federal Highway Administration, and one carries a posted load limit; that federal inventory lists none of them with clearance under 14 feet.
When you describe where the truck is parked, mention the nearest road it can be reached from. That lets us plan a route for our own tow or carrier to your truck in Union Park.
Foliage growers
Nursery and foliage growers
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 600 farms in Orange County, with foliage plants, propagative material and potted flowering plants listed first among its top products. Box trucks and reefer straight trucks that move nursery stock between growers and garden centres are trucks we will buy.
Growers selling a nursery truck should note whether it has a reefer unit or shelving installed and include the unit’s make. A truck parked at a greenhouse operation can be collected right there; just tell us which entrance the driver should use.
The questions we get asked in Union Park
- My dump truck sits at the S & L Materials quarry pit. Will you pick it up from the quarry itself? The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists that crushed-stone quarry 14.9 miles south-east of Union Park, and we collect from it. Give us a contact at the quarry who can open the gate and point out the truck.
- My truck is kept near the Navy’s logistics annex east of town. Does the gate there complicate pickup? The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places that annex 2.8 miles east of Union Park, and a truck stored near it can be picked up. Tell us about any access controls at the parking spot so the driver comes prepared.
- Who handles a lost Florida title for a truck registered in Union Park?Florida’s title agency issues replacement titles for vehicles registered in Union Park, so apply to it for a duplicate before the sale and tell us the request is underway.
- Do you buy tank tractors that worked the Heniff terminal?Heniff’s liquid bulk terminal is 9.6 miles west of Union Park in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings, and tractors that served it are on our list. Along with the VIN, photograph the fifth wheel, the wet kit if fitted, and both sides of the tractor.
