Zellwood’s small, local carrier base
Of the 39 active Zellwood carriers on FMCSA’s carrier census, 33 stay inside Florida on intrastate authority and only 6 cross state lines. A truck from a Zellwood outfit has most likely spent its life on Florida roads, so a Florida title and current Florida registration are the two papers to find before you call us.
Of those 39 carriers, 21 are private fleets hauling their own goods rather than freight for hire, again per the FMCSA carrier census. If your truck belongs to a nursery, a builder or a packing shed rather than a trucking company, the seller is whoever holds the title, so check which name is printed on it before we arrange collection.
Driver records in the same federal census put 116 drivers on runs within 100 miles of home and 57 beyond that. Most Zellwood trucks therefore sleep in a yard or a driveway nearby, and that address is where we come to load it.
General freight, produce, timber and chemicals
General freight is the cargo 18 Zellwood carriers list with FMCSA, while fresh produce, chemicals and logs, poles, beams and lumber are each listed by 3. Straight trucks, reefers, flatbeds and log trailers can all come out of a mix like that, and we buy each of those body types.
If the truck carried chemicals, keep the tank or hazmat paperwork that went with it, because the FMCSA registration for chemical haulers sets it apart from a dry van. For a log or lumber rig, photos of the bunks, the stakes and the trailer plate alongside the cab tell us what we are collecting.
Nurseries, factories and Orange County farms
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 600 farms in Orange County, with foliage plants, propagative material and potted flowering plants at the top of the list. Nursery stock moves in box trucks and reefers, so if yours hauled plants, open the box for photos and note any lift gate or refrigeration unit fitted to it.
In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts placed 877 jobs in Zellwood, with 206 in manufacturing, 145 in agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting, and 94 in wholesale trade. A truck owned by one of those employers is often titled to the business, so have whoever signs for the company available when the sale is agreed.
Site work keeps tippers moving here too: the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns record 8 construction firms on Zellwood’s patch of Orange County. A dump truck or a flatbed from a contractor yard is collected from that yard, so give us the gate hours and a name to ask for.
Sand and terminals
Pits to the west, tanks and rail to the east
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Astatula Sand Plant 9.8 miles west of Zellwood and Lisbon Sand 15.8 miles north-west, with the Okahumpka industrial-mineral mine 19.2 miles west. Dump trucks and end dumps that worked those pits can be picked up where they are parked, so tell us whether that is at a pit gate or back at home.
Heniff’s liquid bulk terminal sits 16 miles south-east and Transflo CSXT 18 miles east, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A tanker tractor that served either site sells the same way as any other: send the VIN, the odometer reading and photos of the fifth wheel.
East of town, the North American Rail Network from the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the RAND rail yard 17.2 miles away. Trucks that shuttle to rail yards often stay near them between loads, and we collect from that lot if that is where the keys are.
How Zellwood’s trucks line up: units, years, odometers
At the top of Zellwood’s list, one carrier fields 51 power units and 48 drivers, a second 24 and 21, and a third 19 and 19, all on FMCSA’s carrier census. If you are clearing several units from a fleet at once, list each VIN and where each truck is parked, and we can plan one visit for the lot.
Between October 2024 and August 2026, 46 trucks from Zellwood carriers were stopped for FMCSA roadside inspections; their median model year was 2015.5, and half dated back ten years or more. Whatever the model year of yours, the registration card and the title carry it, so a photo of either answers the question.
Seven Zellwood carriers filed annual mileage with FMCSA, and the middle figure among them works out to 29,750 miles a truck. A current odometer photo, taken with the key on, is the reading we ask for first.
Getting a Zellwood title and file in order
Florida titles are issued by the state’s title agency, and a lost one is replaced there before the sale can close. Start that request as soon as you know the title is missing, and tell us so we can keep everything else ready.
If the truck has a lien, bring the lender’s name and the account details, since the payoff has to clear before the title passes to us. Service records, inspection reports and the registration card all help, and none of them needs to be original paper; clear photos are fine.
The questions we get asked in Zellwood
- Can you collect an end dump that still sits at the Astatula pit, or must it come back to Zellwood first? The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Astatula Sand Plant 9.8 miles west of town, and we collect from a pit yard like that one. Send the plant’s gate details and whoever on site holds the truck’s keys.
- Our foliage nursery’s box truck carries the farm’s name on its title; whose signature goes on it?Orange County has 600 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and many nursery trucks are titled to a farm business rather than a person. Whoever the nursery has authorised to sign its documents puts their name on that title.
- The Florida title for my Zellwood tractor has gone missing; how is it replaced?A Zellwood truck carries a Florida title, so the replacement comes from the state’s title agency. Apply there first, then send us a photo of the new title when it arrives.
