Rail yards on both sides of Ardmore
The Olivers rail yard is 2.7 miles south-east of Ardmore on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A day cab that shuttles boxes or bulk loads to that yard often spends its nights a few streets from the tracks, and that is where we can collect it; give us the street address and say whether a trailer is still hooked up.
Further out, the Elkhart yard is 15.9 miles east of town on the same North American Rail Network. If your tractor ran between Olivers and Elkhart, write down the VIN, the odometer reading and which yard it worked most, then send photos of the cab, frame and fifth wheel so we can see the whole unit before we call back.
According to the Energy Information Administration, a petroleum product terminal named South Bend lies 5.3 miles south-east of Ardmore, and a second one, Granger, is 11.6 miles east. Tankers that load at either rack and deliver to stations across the county are exactly the kind of tractor we buy here.
For a fuel truck, keep the tank’s inspection certificates and any hazmat paperwork in the cab with the registration. If the tank trailer is sold along with the tractor, list both VINs in your first message so we can plan to collect them together from wherever they are parked between Ardmore and Granger.
Dump trucks south of Ardmore
South Bend Sandpit is a sand and gravel operation 5.5 miles south of town, as listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, which also records Landmark Materials 20.5 miles to the south-west. Tandem and tri-axle dump trucks hauling aggregate out of pits like these are welcome, and so are the end-dump trailers behind them.
A dump truck that sits at a pit between jobs can be picked up right there, as long as the operator lets a tow rig in. Tell us the gate hours and who holds the key, and have the title and the most recent service invoices together for the person who meets our driver.
Grain trucks, hopper-bottom tractors and livestock haulers from those operations are trucks we take, whether they worked a single farm or hauled for neighbours too.
Farm trucks are often stored in a machine shed or at the edge of a field after harvest. Photograph the truck where it is parked, include the plate and a shot of the data plate on the door frame, and tell us whether the lane to it is gravel or paved so we bring the right equipment.
Titles in Indiana come from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and its South Bend branch at 1139 East Ireland Road, South Bend, 46601 is 6.4 miles from Ardmore according to the agency’s own branch list. That is the office to visit if the title for your truck has gone missing or still shows a lien holder.
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles takes duplicate title applications through its BMV branches, so start that request before you contact us if you can. If the title is in a business name, bring proof that you can sign for the company, and keep the registration with it so the names match at pickup.
