Racks half a mile off
Two terminals just west of Clermont
The Energy Information Administration lists two petroleum product terminals, Indianapolis and Raceway, each 0.4 miles from Clermont, one to the west and one to the south-west. If your tanker or fuel straight truck loads at either rack, it may well be parked within a few minutes of town when you call us. Give us the street address of the yard and the name of whoever can let our driver in.
A tractor that has pulled tank trailers in and out of Raceway or the Indianapolis terminal is something we buy, and so is the trailer. Send us the VIN of each unit, a set of photos of the cab, frame, fifth wheel and tank, and any terminal inspection sheets you kept; those sheets tell us where the rig has been without a long phone call.
Rail and containers toward Avon and Plainfield
Head 4.6 miles south-west and you reach the Avon rail yard, as mapped by the North American Rail Network, which the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. Only a little further on, at 5 miles in that same direction, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Plainfield Intermodal Terminal. Day cabs that shuttle containers between those two points and the warehouses along the way are trucks we collect from Hendricks-side lots and Clermont driveways alike.
If your container tractor is sitting at a drop yard near Plainfield rather than at home, leave it there. Tell us the yard’s name, the gate hours and the chassis or trailer it is hooked to, and we plan the pickup at that spot instead of asking you to move it.
Quarry country past the ramps
Kentucky Avenue Mine and the rail yards beyond
Kentucky Avenue Mine, a crushed-stone quarry on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s roll, lies 8.7 miles south-east of Clermont. Tri-axle dumps and end-dump trailers that haul aggregate from a pit like that are part of what we take, so tell us the body type, its length and whether a tarp system is fitted.
On the same side of the city, the North American Rail Network shows the Vertellus rail yard 7.5 miles out, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records a second intermodal ramp, Indianapolis, IN, at 9.5 miles. A tractor that runs boxes from that south-east ramp can be collected wherever its route ends for the night; just send the address with your photos.
Seven miles south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics also lists NG Indianapolis 38 ID as a military installation. If your truck is parked anywhere with controlled access, say so up front so we can arrange entry before the driver sets out.
Mixers, roll-offs, crew rigs
Construction holds most of the work here
Construction filled 821 of Clermont’s 1,383 jobs in 2023, a 59.4 percent share on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES). That puts mixers, flatbeds, roll-off trucks and crew trucks on local job sites every working day, and every one of those body types is welcome here.
When you send details on a construction truck, include the upfit as well as the chassis: dump bed, crane, liftgate or service body. A photo of the data plate on the body, alongside the VIN plate on the door, lets us confirm both halves in one look.
Soybeans and nursery stock
Grain and greenhouse trucks around Clermont
Around Clermont and across the rest of Marion County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counted 169 farms, with soybeans, corn and potted flowering plants listed first. Grain trucks with hoist beds and box trucks that move nursery stock both come off operations like those.
A farm truck often sits in a barn or behind a shed between seasons. Tell us which building it is in, whether a tractor or loader would need to be moved first, and whether it carries farm plates, so the collection goes smoothly on the day.
Crawfordsville Road
Replacing a lost title at the Indianapolis - West branch
A Clermont owner missing a title goes to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, whose BMV branches issue the duplicate. For Clermont the closest one is Indianapolis - West, at 5620 Crawfordsville Rd, Indianapolis, 46224, some 3.6 miles from town according to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ own branch list.
Bring photo identification and the VIN when you apply, and if a lender is shown on the old title, take the lien release with you too. Let us know when you have applied; we can start on everything else while the replacement is on its way.
