Pit haulers, Scatterfield side
Aggregate loads off the Anderson Plant and Pendleton Quarry benches
Just 4.7 miles east of Edgewood, the Anderson Plant digs sand and gravel, according to Mine Safety and Health Administration listings. A tandem or tri-axle dump that has hauled aggregate out of that pit can stay in its yard while you sell it; send us the street address and a name we can call on pickup day.
Pendleton Quarry, a crushed-stone site 4.9 miles to the south, appears in those Mine Safety and Health Administration records too. If your truck loaded stone there, photograph the bed, the hoist and the cab from both sides, and have the VIN and the odometer reading ready when you first get in touch.
For a dump body that was added after the chassis left the factory, any build sheet or body plate photo you can find helps us match the truck to its title description.
Stone a dozen miles out
Stony Creek to the west, Fall Creek to the south-west
Mine Safety and Health Administration listings put IMI Stony Creek Stone Co, a crushed-stone quarry, 11.7 miles west, and Fall Creek Sand & Gravel 12.3 miles south-west. A truck kept at either site does not need to be driven back toward Edgewood first; we collect from the pit gate or the contractor’s lot.
Tell us who controls the gate at a quarry yard and what hours it is open. Mine sites often restrict who walks in, and knowing the contact ahead of time keeps the collection from being turned away at the entrance.
South Anderson yard and the line toward EAST
Three miles east of town, the South Anderson rail yard is recorded in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle loads between a yard and nearby customers are among the trucks we purchase from owners around here.
A second yard, named EAST, lies 21.1 miles east in that North American Rail Network listing. If your tractor is parked near either one, give us the exact spot and say whether a trailer is still coupled to it, so we bring the right equipment.
Tank rigs that load at the pair of Muncie racks
Two petroleum product terminals at Muncie, 23 miles north-east, are listed by the Energy Information Administration. A tractor or straight tanker based up there can be collected where it stands, with no need to bring it south to Edgewood.
With a fuel hauler, keep the tank inspection paperwork and any hazmat placard records together with the title. Those show what the truck carried and when, which saves several questions once we have the photos.
Corn hauling off Edgewood’s surrounding fields
Around Edgewood the farm ground is corn, soybeans and cattle, and USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 682 farms across Madison County. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and farm tractors that pull hopper trailers are all trucks we buy from growers here.
Between harvests an Edgewood grain truck may wait in a machine shed or beside a soybean field. Send us the farm address and a rough note on where on the property the truck is parked, plus whether the ground is firm enough for a tow vehicle to reach it.
