A mile north
Asphalt Materials and the Warsaw terminal
Asphalt Materials, a liquid bulk terminal listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, stands 1 mile north of Winona Lake. A tractor that has pulled heated asphalt tankers from that gate is one we buy, and so is the tanker itself. Tell us which trailer it ran with and whether that trailer is part of the sale; a tractor and a tank are collected on separate pickups.
Just past it, 1.1 miles north, the Energy Information Administration places the WARSAW petroleum product terminal. Fuel tank trucks and the tractors that loaded there usually sit at a yard between Winona Lake and Warsaw rather than at a house. Give us that yard’s address and the gate hours, and send the tank’s most recent inspection sheet with your photos of the cab and plate.
Fifteen miles up
Milford’s fuel rack on the same road north
The MILFORD INDIANA petroleum product terminal is 15.1 miles north of Winona Lake on the Energy Information Administration’s list. An owner-operator who splits loads between the Milford rack and the Warsaw rack may keep the truck at either end. Say which end it is parked at today; we collect from that spot and you do not move it.
For a tanker that loaded at Milford, have the registration and the title in the name printed on the cab door, or tell us up front if they differ. A title that has gone missing is replaced through Indiana’s state title agency, and that request can start while we look over the photos.
Dump bodies from the gravel pits north-west and south-west
The Mine Safety and Health Administration records the Warsaw Plant, a sand and gravel operation, 5.6 miles north-west of town. Dump trucks, tri-axles and end dumps that haul aggregate from a pit like that are on our list. A pit truck often stays on site between jobs, so tell us whether we pick it up at the plant or at your shop.
Further out, 15.9 miles south-west, the Disko Plant is a second sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s rolls. Photos of a dump body should show the bed, the hoist and the tailgate as well as the cab and odometer. Add the VIN plate, and the questions that follow will be about that one truck.
Corn, soybeans and hogs around the lake
Around the lake, Kosciusko County holds 1,079 farms whose leading products are corn, soybeans and hogs, by the tally in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Grain trucks, hopper-bottom tractors and livestock haulers are what a county like that keeps in its sheds. If yours lives in a barn lot outside Winona Lake, give us the road and a landmark so the driver finds the right lane.
A farm truck can be titled to a person, a partnership or the farm itself. Check which name Indiana’s title agency has on the title before you contact us, and have whoever holds it ready to sign. Keep any harvest-season service receipts in the cab.
Box trucks for the factories, flatbeds for the builders
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) show 1,413 jobs in Winona Lake in 2023, with 90 of them, or 6.4 percent, in manufacturing. Box trucks and straight trucks that run parts or finished goods for those employers are welcome here. Note whether the box has a liftgate and send a photo of it lowered.
Six construction firms keep offices in Winona Lake, going by the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. A small contractor might own a single flatbed, a dump or a utility body and still sell it to us. Have the registration card from the glovebox, and tell us which jobsite or lot the truck is on today.
