Coal pits up the road
River View Mine and the preparation plant beside it
RIVER VIEW MINE, a coal mine listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, lies 4.3 miles north of Breckinridge Center. A haul truck or tractor parked at a mine lot that close is one we can reach without the owner moving it into town; give us the gate details and who on site can let a driver in.
River View Facilities, a coal preparation plant, is 6.9 miles to the north-west on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list. If your truck shuttled between the pit and that plant, a short note of the loads it hauled and the hours it kept helps us read the photos you send, and any service log from the shop that maintained it belongs with them.
Across the Henderson line
Henderson County Mine on the east side
East of Breckinridge Center the Mine Safety and Health Administration places Henderson County Mine, a coal mine 7.8 miles out. Owners whose trucks are kept at that site rather than at home can sell from where the unit stands: send the street or mine-road location and a photo of the VIN plate on the door frame.
Between these three sites, every coal operation the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists near town sits inside an eight-mile ring of Breckinridge Center. For a pickup at any of them, have the title in hand, current registration, and the name on both matching.
Docks on the Ohio
Tank hauls to the Owensboro and riverport docks
Fourteen miles north-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists a liquid bulk terminal at Owensboro, and Henderson County Riverport has another liquid bulk terminal 14.4 miles in the same direction. A tractor that pulled a tank trailer to those docks is a truck we buy; tell us whether the trailer comes with it or stays behind.
Two petroleum product terminals named HENDERSON appear in Energy Information Administration records, one 14.2 miles and the other 20.8 miles north-east of Breckinridge Center. Drivers who hauled fuel out of either should have the tank’s most recent inspection paperwork ready, since a tanker sale here usually starts with that question.
Henderson County Riverport, KY is also listed as a port by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 17.8 miles to the east. If your truck now waits at the riverport rather than in Breckinridge Center, we collect it there; just tell us which gate and the hours it is open.
Corn and soybean haulers parked in barn lots
Breckinridge Center is surrounded by row crops: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 290 farms in Union County, with corn, soybeans and wheat at the top of the list. Grain trucks and hopper tractors from those operations often sit in a barn lot between harvests, and a farm address is as good a pickup point as any.
If a grain truck has been in the family a long time, the title may carry a parent’s name or an old lienholder. Sort that out before we call; a released lien letter and the current owner’s ID make the sale on a farm vehicle as simple as one on a fleet tractor.
In Kentucky, titles are issued by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet through county clerk offices, and the one for Breckinridge Center is the Union County Clerk at 100 East Main Street, Morganfield, 42437, about 2.8 miles away. A lost title is replaced there, so start that errand before you list the truck.
Bring your ID and the VIN to the clerk’s counter in Morganfield; if the truck was last titled in another state, ask the clerk what the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet needs from that state’s record. Once the replacement title is in your hands, we can book the collection.
A small job base with heavy freight close by
Breckinridge Center counted 317 jobs in 2023 on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES), a modest base beside the mines and docks nearby. Many trucks here are owned by one person or a small family outfit, and we deal with the owner named on the title directly, with no fleet office in between.
Whether the unit hauled coal, grain or fuel, the steps are the same: photos of each side and the cab, the VIN, the title, and the address where it is parked. Send those and we plan the pickup at that address.
