Jeffersonville’s neighbouring stone pits, south-east and east
Natural Bridge Stone, a crushed-stone quarry the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 10.8 miles south-east of Jeffersonville, is the nearer of two pits on this side of town. Dump trucks and tri-axles that run aggregate out of there are trucks we buy, and we collect them at the yard or the driveway where they sit.
Menifee Stone sits 12.6 miles east of town, also on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s roll. If your truck hauled from either pit, photograph the bed, the hoist and the cab, then send the VIN and the odometer reading with those photos so we can start on the right truck.
A town of small, home-based fleets
Jeffersonville has 76 active carriers on FMCSA’s carrier census, and 54 of them are private fleets moving their own goods rather than hauling for hire. A farm, a sawmill or a contractor selling the one truck it owns is the usual seller here, and the sale is handled with the owner directly.
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 70 of those outfits staying inside Kentucky and 6 crossing state lines. In the same federal census the three biggest local fleets run 7, 4 and 3 power units, with 3, 1 and 4 drivers between them; a seller in this town usually has one or two trucks in a small yard.
New registrations are few: FMCSA’s records show 2 carriers starting up in 2024 and 1 in 2025. If you are winding down a business that registered years ago, keep your USDOT number with the title and send it along with the VIN.
Lumber, machinery and general freight from eastern Montgomery
On FMCSA’s carrier census, 28 Jeffersonville carriers list general freight and another 28 list machinery and large objects. Lowboys, flatbeds and the tractors that pull them fit that mix, and we take the tractor with the trailer or either one alone.
Logs, poles, beams and lumber appear on 18 local registrations in FMCSA’s carrier census, with motor vehicles on 19. A log truck with a loader or a car hauler with ramps should be photographed with that equipment folded and extended, so the pictures show everything the truck carries.
Seven Jeffersonville carriers reported mileage to FMCSA, and the federal carrier census puts their median at 8,000 miles a truck each year. Whatever your own truck shows, write the current odometer reading into your first message beside the VIN.
Cattle country trucks
Grain, livestock and stock-trailer rigs near Jeffersonville
Around Jeffersonville and across the rest of Montgomery County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 528 farms, with cattle, corn and soybeans at the top. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and the farm tractors pulling stock trailers are all trucks we collect from the barn lot where they are kept.
Before we come out, tell us whether the truck is behind a gate or out in a field, and how a pickup truck and trailer reach it. A farm-plated truck still needs its Kentucky title, so find that paper before the visit.
Replacing a missing title at the clerk’s office on Court Street
Titles in Kentucky go through county clerk offices for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and the Cabinet lists the one serving Jeffersonville as the Montgomery County Clerk, about 7.4 miles away at 1 Court Street, Suite 2, Mt. Sterling, 40353, by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s clerk list. If the title is lost or still shows an old lienholder, that clerk’s office is where you sort it out.
Bring your registration and identification to the clerk when you go. Once the corrected title is in your name, send us a photo of its front, and keep the registration and any service records together with it for the day we collect.
Ravenna and contractors
The Ravenna yard and local builders
Southward 20.7 miles, the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the RAVENNA rail yard. If your truck is parked down near Ravenna rather than in Jeffersonville, give us that address and we collect it there.
Montgomery County holds 7 construction establishments in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, and a contractor’s dump truck, boom truck or water truck from one of those firms can be sold straight from the job site, as long as someone can let us onto it.
