Bulk fuel, west side
The Shell terminal and the Amelia fuel depot
Shell’s liquid bulk terminal, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places 13.5 miles south-west of Bayou Country Club, is the closest heavy freight site on record for the town. A tank tractor or straight truck that shuttles product out of that gate is one we want to hear about. Send the VIN, the plate and a few clear photos of the cab, the frame and the tank or body, and say which terminal it loaded at.
Twenty miles due west, the Energy Information Administration lists the AMELIA petroleum product terminal. If your fuel hauler is parked closer to Amelia than to home, leave it there; give us the yard address, the name of whoever holds the gate key, and a phone number for that person, and the pickup gets arranged around that lot rather than your driveway.
Up toward the river
Three river gates within a mile of each other
Heading north-east from Bayou Country Club, three sites sit within a mile of each other on the government lists: the MT AIRY petroleum product terminal at 20.9 miles on Energy Information Administration records, the MPLX liquid bulk terminal at 21.6 miles per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and the Gramercy Operation, a mineral processing plant the Mine Safety and Health Administration places at 20.9 miles. Tankers, dump trucks and flatbeds that rotate between those gates all qualify.
Plant sites like Gramercy keep their own entry rules, so if your truck is still inside a contractor yard near the river, tell us whose property it sits on and who signs visitors in. Photograph any gate passes, site inspection sheets or service logs you kept from that work and send them with the rest.
Port of South Louisiana docks and its rail yard
About 23.7 miles north-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Port of South Louisiana, and the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows the PT OF SOUTH LOUISIANA rail yard just a tenth of a mile short of it at 23.6 miles. Day cabs pulling chassis or flatbeds between ship, rail and warehouse are a common fit for that run.
For a tractor that worked the port, the VIN and odometer reading come first, then photos of the fifth wheel, tires and both sides of the cab. Mention whether it carries a port access sticker or any terminal paperwork, since that tells us where it has been before we ever see it.
Cattle, goats and hogs on nearby farms
Around Bayou Country Club, livestock leads the farm tally: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 339 farms in Lafourche Parish, with cattle, goats and hogs ranking as the top three. Stock trucks, gooseneck haulers’ tow rigs and feed trucks serving those farms are trucks we purchase.
A farm truck often sits in a barn lot or pasture rather than on pavement. Tell us whether the ground there is firm enough for a tow vehicle, which gate to use, and whether anyone needs to move livestock before we arrive, so collection goes cleanly.
Around the club roads
Service work close to home
Employers within Bayou Country Club itself account for 980 jobs, as tallied for 2023 in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES). Service trucks, box vans and pickups with upfits that support that local work fall within what we buy, alongside the heavier tractors that run to the terminals.
Whatever the truck did around town, a short note on its use, plus the registration card and a photo of the dashboard with the odometer showing, gives us what we need to start.
A notary office for Louisiana titles
Louisiana titles are handled by the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles, and its list of OMV offices includes Chiasson’s Notary Services, LLC at 103 B Highway 20, Schriever, 70395, about 2.8 miles from Bayou Country Club. A lost title for your truck can be replaced through that office.
Have the title in hand, signed where the owner signs, or the replacement under way before pickup. If a lender still holds a lien, tell us the lender’s name so the release can be lined up with the sale.
