If your tractor or box truck pulled mixed loads for one of them, have the title and current registration in hand before you call, along with the unit number the fleet used.
Eight Jeanerette carriers declare machinery and large objects as cargo and five declare oilfield equipment, on figures from FMCSA’s census. Lowboys, winch tractors and flatbed setups fit that work, so tell us the trailer or body type with the VIN and photograph the deck as well as the cab.
Four carriers here also carry dry bulk commodities, according to the same federal carrier census. A hopper or end-dump tractor that ran those loads can be collected from the yard where it is parked; send the address and the name of whoever holds the keys.
One sizeable operation beside single-truck outfits
Among the Jeanerette carriers in FMCSA’s census, one runs 61 power units with 156 drivers, while the next two list two units and one unit. A small owner-operator selling a single truck goes through the same steps as a fleet manager releasing several: a title for each unit, a matching VIN, and a photo set per truck.
Ten local carriers are registered for interstate work and 18 for intrastate only, with eight operating as private fleets, per FMCSA registrations. If your truck carried an interstate authority, note the USDOT number on it so the paperwork lines up when the title transfers.
The same federal census counts 163 drivers at Jeanerette carriers working within 100 miles and 36 going beyond that radius. A truck kept on short parish runs is usually parked close to home, which makes giving us an exact pickup spot simple.
Salt dome country
Salt, sand and gravel around the bayou
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the New Iberia Plant, a mineral processing plant 9.8 miles west, and the Weeks Island Mine and Mill, an industrial-mineral mine 11.1 miles south-west. If your dump truck or tractor served either site, send any site access or inspection paperwork you kept along with the photos.
North-west of town, Legacy Aggregates LLC sits 19.2 miles out and B & D Sand Pit 22.6 miles out, both sand and gravel operations on Mine Safety and Health Administration records. A truck still parked at a pit can stay there; tell us the gate hours and who can let us in.
Fuel, rail and water
Baldwin fuel, New Iberia rail and the parish port
Drive 9.5 miles south-east toward Baldwin and you reach a petroleum product terminal that the Energy Information Administration lists by that town’s name. Fuel tankers and the tractors that pull them out of Baldwin are on our list, and a copy of the tank’s latest test certificate helps if you still have it.
The New Iberia rail yard, 11.3 miles west along the Teche, shows up on the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. Drayage tractors working that yard can be sold from wherever they sit between loads.
Bureau of Transportation Statistics port listings put West St. Mary Parish Port 17.4 miles south-east, toward the Gulf side of the parish line. If your truck is parked near the port, give us the lot name and a contact so the collection is arranged with them directly.
Grain, cattle and horse rigs from Iberia Parish
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 307 farms in Iberia Parish, with soybeans, cattle and equine at the top of the list. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and horse rigs from those operations are welcome; send the title and a few photos of the bed or trailer.
Farm trucks often carry farm plates instead of commercial registration. Whatever the plate type, the title is what transfers, so if it has gone missing, start a replacement with the state’s title agency before we schedule the pickup.
Paperwork before a Jeanerette pickup
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts recorded 405 jobs located in Jeanerette in 2023, so most trucks here are kept at a home, a shop lot or a job site rather than a large terminal. Give us that exact location along with the VIN.
A newer operation selling its first truck needs the same short list: signed title, registration, any service records, and clear photos of every side.
The questions we get asked in Jeanerette
- Do you buy oilfield or machinery haulers?FMCSA’s census shows eight Jeanerette carriers hauling machinery and five hauling oilfield equipment, and those trucks are on our list. Include the VIN, say whether it pulls a lowboy or a flatbed, and photograph the deck.
