Two sandpits on Marrero’s doorstep
Beverly Sandpit #3 lies 1.2 miles north of Marrero and Bella Rose sits 2 miles to the north-west, both carried by the Mine Safety and Health Administration as sand and gravel operations. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that loads at either pit may well be parked close to the pit gate when we arrange collection, so tell us which site it is at and who can let us in.
If your truck has hauled aggregate out of Beverly or Bella Rose, have the title and the current Louisiana registration in one folder before you call. Add a few photos of the bed, the cab and the VIN plate, and keep any scale tickets or service invoices you saved, since they show us where the truck has worked.
Wharves, terminals and the Napoleon Avenue yards
North of town, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Port of New Orleans Nashville Avenue Wharf, a roll-on/roll-off terminal 2 miles north, and a New Orleans liquid bulk terminal 1.3 miles north-east of Marrero. Retif Oil and Fuel, a liquid bulk terminal 2.2 miles to the north-east, is on the same Bureau of Transportation Statistics list. Tank tractors and day cabs that shuttle between these docks are trucks we purchase; say which terminals yours served when you first get in touch.
On the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Napoleon Ave ICTF and the Cotton Warehouse rail yard both sit 2.1 miles north of town. A container chassis tractor working those ramps can stay where it is parked; give us the yard or lot address and a contact who can open the gate.
The Harvey petroleum product terminal, 2.4 miles north-east, appears in the Energy Information Administration’s terminal list. If your tanker tractor is kept near Harvey, send the VIN and the odometer reading first, then the title, and we will plan the pickup around the terminal’s hours.
Coil, lumber and general freight out of Marrero
Flatbed and step-deck tractors fit those last three lines, and a seller should photograph the trailer deck and the securement points along with the cab.
In FMCSA’s carrier census, 50 Marrero operators run interstate, 70 work intrastate only, and 32 haul their own goods as private carriers. If your truck stayed inside Louisiana, a Louisiana title and registration are all the paperwork we start with; for an interstate unit, add whatever registration you hold from other states.
New registrations listed in FMCSA’s census came to 13 Marrero carriers in 2024 and 8 in 2025. The census also records one local fleet at 65 power units and 75 drivers, another at 22 power units and 11 drivers, and a third at 8 power units. Whether you are selling one truck or several from a fleet that size, we take them one VIN at a time, with a title for each.
Between September 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records list 42 Marrero-based trucks inspected, with a median model year of 2012.5. Those same FMCSA inspection records put 66.67 percent of the 42 trucks at ten or more model years old.
Whatever the model year of your truck, tell us the year, make and engine when you get in touch. The VIN confirms the rest, so put a clear photo of the VIN plate or door sticker at the top of what you send.
Clearances on Marrero’s spans
Not one of Marrero’s 18 bridges is load-posted or under 14 feet of clearance, according to the National Bridge Inventory kept by the Federal Highway Administration. A tractor with a trailer still hooked up can be collected from a Marrero address without a detour around a low or weight-limited span.
When you give us the location, note whether the truck sits on a paved lot, a pit road or a terminal yard, and whether the trailer is staying behind. That lets us send the right equipment the first time.
Payrolls, contractors and cattle farms
In the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023, Marrero shows 10,614 jobs, including 98 in construction, 93 in manufacturing, 62 in transportation and warehousing and 55 in wholesale trade. Construction firms number 73 on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, a list a contractor selling a dump truck may well be on.
Builders on that list run dump trucks, flatbeds and box trucks. If yours is registered to a business, the person who signs the title has to be someone the company authorises, so have that name ready, along with any lien release if the truck was financed.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 20 farms in Jefferson Parish, with cattle the leading line. A livestock hauler or farm truck from the parish is one we buy as well; the farm’s title and registration are what we need to start.
The questions we get asked in Marrero
- My dump truck is parked at a sandpit just outside Marrero. Does it need to come off the pit site first?Beverly Sandpit #3 is 1.2 miles north of town in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, and we collect from pit sites like it. Name the pit and whoever holds the gate key, and the truck can stay put until collection.
- Can you collect a tractor parked at a terminal north of Marrero? The Nashville Avenue Wharf, 2 miles north on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list, and terminals like it are places we arrange pickups from. Tell us whose lot the truck is on so we can arrange access with them.
- Are there low bridges around Marrero that limit pickup?Marrero’s 18 bridges in the National Bridge Inventory include none under 14 feet and none load-posted, so a truck and trailer can be reached at a local address. Note on your enquiry whether the trailer goes too.
- I run a small flatbed fleet hauling steel coil. Will you take several trucks?FMCSA’s carrier census lists 21 Marrero carriers hauling metal sheets, coils and rolls, and fleets of every size sell to us. Send a VIN and title for each truck and we handle them together.
