Two petroleum product terminals carrying the MT AIRY name appear in Energy Information Administration listings at 5.1 and 5.3 miles north-east of North Vacherie. A tractor that has pulled fuel tankers in and out of those gates may still be parked at a yard on either bank, and we can collect it wherever it stands once you send the street address.
Liquid bulk terminals sit along the same stretch, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics: MPLX at 5.9 miles north-east and Marathon Dock at 7.9 miles east. If your tank truck or tractor worked those docks, write down which terminals it served and gather any site inspection reports you kept, so the history comes to us together with the photos.
For a tanker unit, send pictures of the cab, the frame, the fifth wheel and the tank itself, along with the VIN plate. We go over those pictures with you on the phone and then set a day to come out to the parish.
Plant and quarry
Gramercy Operation and the fill pits up the road
Just 4.8 miles north-east of town, the Mine Safety and Health Administration records Gramercy Operation as a mineral processing plant. Trucks that shuttle material in and out of a plant like that tend to stay on site between shifts, so tell us whether the unit can be reached from a public road or sits behind a gate that someone has to open.
Further off, 16.8 miles north-west, South Louisiana Fill Materials, LLC shows up in Mine Safety and Health Administration listings as a sand and gravel operation. A dump truck or end-dump trailer that has hauled fill from there can be sold from the pit lot itself; give us a contact on site and the hours the gate is staffed.
Containers and cargo near the Port of South Louisiana
Day cabs that shuttle loads between that yard and nearby warehouses are tractors we buy, and the VIN plus a current registration card are the first two things we will ask you for.
East of town by 12.2 miles, the South Louisiana port is listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics as a port. If your tractor has worked the wharves there, you do not have to bring it back to the west bank; we arrange pickup at the yard where it is parked.
Jobs located in and around North Vacherie
In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) placed 461 jobs in North Vacherie, with manufacturing accounting for 63 of them, or 13.7 percent. Box trucks, flatbeds and service bodies that support plant work are part of what we purchase here, and a vocational body is fine as long as you tell us what is mounted on the chassis.
If the truck belonged to a small business that is closing or downsizing, have the person whose name is on the title ready to sign, and list any equipment bolted to the frame so it is clear what goes with the sale.
Grain and livestock haulers on River Road
St. James Parish had 61 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with soybeans and cattle as the leading products there. Grain trucks, hopper trailers and livestock haulers that have served those farms are welcome, and they can be collected right from a barn or field lot outside North Vacherie.
A farm truck that is only used at harvest may have registration that has lapsed; tell us so up front and send a photo of the title, so we know which name and parish it is under before we schedule a visit.
The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles handles titles here, and its closest OMV office to town is the OMV Gramercy Office at 827 N Pine Street, Suite B, Gramercy, 70052, which the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles places 3.7 miles from North Vacherie. A seller who cannot find the title can apply there for a duplicate before we set the pickup.
Bring your identification and the VIN to that Gramercy counter, and if a lender once held the truck, bring the lien release too. Once the duplicate is in hand, send us a photo of it with the registration and we can move ahead.
