Rosepine on the DeRidder-Leesville rail line
Six miles south of Rosepine, the DeRidder rail yard appears on the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. If your tractor shuttles freight to and from that yard, it may well be parked down there when you call; give us the yard address or the lot it sits on and we will collect it where it is.
Heading the other way, Leesville’s rail yard lies 14.2 miles north of town, again by the North American Rail Network’s mapping. A truck that splits its week between the two yards can be picked up at either end, so tell us which one it is closer to on the day you want it gone, and send a photo of the registration with the VIN visible.
Sand and gravel plants off toward the Sabine side
Plant 1343-Emerald Rock/Cooper, a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, is 7.6 miles west of Rosepine. Dump trucks and end-dump trailers that load at a pit like that often stay on site between shifts. Parked at the plant? Tell us whether a visitor is allowed through the plant gate.
Further out, at 14.5 miles west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Plant 1328-Eaves Loop, another sand and gravel site. Owners whose trucks have hauled aggregate from both plants can send us the title, a set of photos taken from all four corners and any service log they kept; with those in hand we can talk about the truck without a trip out to the pit first.
Toward the installation
Fort Johnson, up the road to the north-east
According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Fort Johnson military installation is 19 miles north-east of Rosepine. Box trucks, flatbeds and tractors that make deliveries around an installation like that are welcome here, and so are those that have been parked up outside it.
If the truck is kept anywhere near the gate, let us know before pickup whether reaching it needs an escort or a pass; we would rather plan the collection around the access rules than arrive at a locked lot. Bring the registration card and the key to the meeting, along with whoever is named on the title or a signed authorization from them.
Rosepine’s cattle, horse and sheep farms
Cattle head the list of top farm categories for Vernon Parish in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, followed by equine and sheep, across 429 farms in the parish. Stock trailers, gooseneck rigs and the pickups or medium-duty trucks that pull them all fit what we purchase, along with the flatbeds used to move hay.
A farm truck often lives in a barn or beside a pasture gate rather than on a paved lot. Send us the directions you would give a feed delivery, note whether the ground is firm enough for a tow truck in wet weather, and include the title and any registration paperwork you can find in the cab.
Lost paperwork, DeRidder
When the title has gone missing, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles handles a replacement, and its OMV DeRidder Office at 2366 Hwy 190 West, DeRidder, 70634 is 5.7 miles from Rosepine. That office is one of the agency’s OMV offices, so it is the nearest counter to start the duplicate title paperwork.
Take your driver’s license, the VIN and the registration if you still have it when you visit DeRidder. If a lender is still listed on the title, bring the lien release with you as well, and keep it with the title for pickup day.
Rosepine’s local jobs and home-parked trucks
Many trucks owned by people here are kept at home in the driveway or a side lot rather than at a company yard, and that is a perfectly good place for us to collect one.
Whether the truck sits behind a house in town or at a shop on the highway, the steps are the same: send photos, the VIN and the title status, and tell us the address. We will tell you what else we need for that particular truck.
