Tankers on the River Road fuel run
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal named ST ROSE 1.9 miles south-west of town, and the Kenner Blending Terminal 4.3 miles to the east. A tractor that shuttles between those two gates is likely parked within a few miles of either one, so give us the street address or the lot name and we plan the collection there.
Tank tractors that load at terminal racks often carry site-access cards and paperwork that stay with the company, not the truck. Before you sell, gather what belongs to the vehicle itself: the Louisiana title, the current registration and any service invoices you kept, then send photos of the cab, the fifth wheel and both sides of the frame.
Box and bulk hauls off the east bank rails
Three point three miles west, the Destrehan rail yard appears on the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics; the Mays yard on that same network lies 6.8 miles east. Day cabs that drayed boxes or bulk loads off those tracks can be collected wherever they now sit, whether that is a yard fence line or a driveway on River Road.
Two New Orleans intermodal ramps, at 6.5 miles east and 6.9 miles south-east, are listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your tractor pulled containers off them, tell us the VIN, the engine make and the odometer reading in your first message; the rest of our questions follow from those three.
Sand and gravel dumps on both sides of the parish
Wood Materials, a sand and gravel operation 4.9 miles east, and Hahnville Pit, 5.9 miles west across the parish, both appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records. Tandem dumps and end-dump trailers that haul from pits like these are trucks we buy, and a pit gate is a fine place for us to meet one.
If the truck is still parked at a pit, check who controls the gate and give us a name and number for that person. Photos of the bed, the hoist and the chassis rails, plus any body manufacturer plate, let us understand the setup without a trip out first.
Steel coil, timber and van freight outfits nearby
Of the 52 active carriers that FMCSA’s carrier census places in town, 25 run interstate, 27 stay inside Louisiana, and 18 are private fleets hauling their own goods. That same census has 35 listing general freight, 13 machinery and large objects, 10 metal sheets, coils and rolls, and 9 logs, poles, beams and lumber.
Flatbeds with coil racks, step decks and lowboys sit alongside van tractors in local yards. When you write to us, name the trailer type and say whether it goes with the tractor.
The biggest fleets in that same FMCSA census run 21, 15 and 7 power units. If you are retiring several trucks at once, send us a list of VINs and where each one is parked, and we work through them as one sale.
Local radius and long hauls
Seventeen local carriers report mileage to FMCSA’s carrier census, and their median truck logs 18,524 miles in a year. The same census shows 49 drivers working within 100 miles and 75 working beyond that radius.
A truck on a long run may be away from home when you decide to sell. Let us know the city where it will stop next and we can arrange to collect it there rather than waiting for it to return to the parish.
FMCSA roadside inspection records from October 2024 to August 2026 cover 43 trucks tied to carriers here, with a median model year of 2023 and 20.9 percent ten or more model years old. Whatever the year of yours, a clear photo of the VIN plate and the door sticker saves a round of questions.
Warehouse, wholesale and contractor trucks
For 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 6,595 jobs in this community, with 1,875 in transportation and warehousing, 1,408 in wholesale trade, 937 in construction and 185 in manufacturing. Box trucks, straight trucks and service bodies from those employers are part of what we take, not only tractors.
Twenty-three construction establishments and 3 warehousing establishments show up here in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. A contractor parking a dump, a flatbed or a crane truck at the end of a job can sell it from the job site; tell us the address and when the site is open.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 44 farms across the parish. A grain or stake truck parked in a barn lot is one we can reach, provided the title is in the seller’s name.
The questions we get asked in St. Rose
- My tank tractor sits by the Kenner Blending Terminal. Must I bring it over to you?Kenner Blending Terminal is 4.3 miles east of town on Energy Information Administration listings, and we collect from its neighbourhood directly. Send the lot address plus a contact who holds the gate key.
- I haul aggregate from Hahnville Pit with an end dump; is that a truck you collect?Hahnville Pit, 5.9 miles west in Mine Safety and Health Administration records, is the kind of site our dump truck sellers work from. Photos of the bed and hoist alongside the VIN let us start on yours.
- My company runs a handful of tractors on the east bank. Could all of them sell together?Local fleets in FMCSA’s carrier census run up to 21 power units, and a list of VINs with each truck’s location is all we need to handle them as one sale.
- Before a pickup in St. Charles Parish, what papers should be on the seat?Louisiana titles a truck through the state’s title agency, so start with that title in your name, plus the current registration and any service invoices. A missing title is replaced by that same agency, and the duplicate should be in hand when we collect.
