Bulk terminals south-west of Village St. George
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places two liquid bulk terminals 6.4 and 6.9 miles south-west of town, at St. Gabriel and at LBC Tank Terminals, the closest dock-side sites on the federal list. If your tractor has pulled tank trailers into either gate, tell us whether the trailer goes with it or stays behind, and send a photo of each.
Two petroleum product terminals appear on the Energy Information Administration’s list: LBC BATON ROUGE, 7.1 miles south-west, and the BATON ROUGE terminal, 8.1 miles north-west. A tractor that loaded at those racks may carry site entry stickers or a loading card; leave them on the dash and mention them when you first get in touch.
KCS and CN yards to the north-west
According to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the BATON ROUGE (KCS) yard lies 9.5 miles north-west of town. Day cabs that shuttle between a rail yard and a nearby warehouse tend to stay parked close to that route, so give us the street address where the cab sits today rather than your home address.
BATON ROUGE (CN) sits 10.8 miles north-west on that same federal rail network from the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your truck is inside a fenced lot near either yard, name the person who controls the gate and the hours it is open; our driver arranges the visit around that contact.
Pasture and row crops
Stock, bean and horse hauling around the parish
Cattle top the list of products for East Baton Rouge Parish in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, ahead of soybeans and equine, across 435 farms. Stock haulers, grain trucks and rigs that tow horse trailers between those farms all fall within what we purchase, and a straight truck sitting in a pasture is fine where it is.
For a farm truck, the title is the main document to find; if it was registered under a farm name or a family member, tell us whose name is on it. Add a photo of the bed or body, the VIN plate and the dash, and the conversation starts from the truck itself.
The 1,380 jobs counted in town by LEHD
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) record 1,380 jobs located in this village in 2023. Box trucks, service bodies and pickups-with-trailers belonging to small local operators are welcome here, as are single tractors owned by one driver.
Owners who work out of a home driveway can sell from that driveway. Keep the registration, the title and any service invoices together in one folder, and photograph the odometer so the reading is on record when you first write to us.
Military sites close by
A military installation, NG Baton Rouge AFRC, lies 4.4 miles west of town, and NG Carville Gillis Long Center 11.6 miles south, both on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list. If you are a Guard member called up from either post and your truck needs to be sold while you are away, a relative can show it to us with the signed title in hand.
Tell us who will meet our driver and whether the truck is on a base lot or off it. Access to an installation is set by the post, so a truck parked outside the gate is the simpler collection.
