Bed loads out of two sand and gravel pits
Ivey Gravel Pit- Central lies 2 miles west of Watson, and the Henderson Lease sits 2.2 miles to the north-east, both listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration as sand and gravel operations. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that shuttles between those two pits is often parked on a yard close to one of them rather than at a house in town. Give us the pit or yard address and the name of whoever holds the gate key, and the collection is arranged around that.
If your truck has been loading at either pit, keep any site sign-in sheets, scale tickets or site paperwork from the job together with the title. Send photos of the bed, the hoist, the frame rails and the cab, taken where the truck stands near Ivey or Henderson.
Fuel fourteen miles west
Fuel tankers staged west of Livingston Parish
Fourteen miles west of Watson, the Energy Information Administration lists the CORP EMCC L3 302 petroleum product terminal, with a second terminal under the BATON ROUGE name 14.6 miles to the south-west. A tractor that pulls fuel tankers out of those sites can be sold from wherever it is staged; tell us whether it sits at a terminal lot or back home in the parish.
Further along the same corridor, liquid bulk terminals appear in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings at Baton Rouge, 16.3 miles west, and at Liquid Bulk Terminals, 17.5 miles south-west. Owners of a day cab or sleeper used on that tank work should have the registration, the VIN and any tank or hazmat inspection records ready, since those are the first things we ask for.
Rail on the south-west side
The KCS yard and its Baton Rouge neighbour
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places the BATON ROUGE (KCS) yard 15.5 miles south-west of Watson and a second BATON ROUGE yard 15.6 miles west. A tractor that pulled boxes between those yards and Livingston Parish customers can be collected at the yard or at home in Watson.
When you contact us about a truck tied to rail work, say which yard it ran from and where it is parked now. A clear photo of the odometer and the door data plate, plus the VIN, answers most of what we need before a pickup is scheduled.
General freight, lumber and coil haulers in town
Watson is home to 40 active motor carriers, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. In that census, 28 list general freight, 11 haul machinery and large objects, 8 carry logs, poles, beams or lumber, and 6 move metal sheets, coils and rolls. A flatbed, lowboy or log truck from one of those operations is the kind of unit we collect here, along with vans and box trucks on general freight.
By operation type in the same FMCSA census, 15 of the town’s carriers run interstate, 25 stay intrastate and 15 are private fleets hauling their own goods. FMCSA records the top Watson fleet at 40 power units and 13 drivers, and the next two at 4 power units with 4 drivers each; one truck or a yard of them, we collect the same way.
Among the seven Watson carriers that report yearly mileage to FMCSA, the median truck covers 49,273 miles. New registrations in the carrier census numbered 4 in 2024 and 3 in 2025, so a truck sold here may come from an owner who started recently as easily as from one who has hauled for years.
Central, five miles out
A notary-run OMV office on Hooper Road in Central
The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles lists No Delay Auto & Notary Services, at 13366 Hooper Rd, Suite B, Central, 70818, among its OMV offices, about 5.5 miles from Watson. If the title for your truck is missing or still shows a lienholder, that office is the closest place to start the duplicate or the lien release.
Bring the registration, your ID and the VIN when you go to Central, and let us know where the title stands before collection day. A seller whose paperwork is still at the Office of Motor Vehicles can tell us that up front; the pickup is planned once the title is in hand.
Parish work and farms
Construction firms, jobs and cattle operations
Around Watson, Census Bureau LEHD job counts put 436 jobs in town for 2023, and County Business Patterns lists 51 construction establishments across Livingston Parish. Dump trucks, flatbeds and equipment haulers belonging to those builders are welcome, whether they are parked at a job site or a shop yard.
Livingston Parish had 402 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, led by cattle, equine and honey. A straight truck or tractor used to move livestock trailers, hay or hives off a parish farm can be collected at the farm gate; tell us the road and how the truck is reached.
