Plant loads
Two-thirds of Warroad’s jobs are in its plants
Of the 3,286 jobs located in Warroad in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) place 2,217 in manufacturing, a 67.5 percent share. If your tractor or straight truck has carried finished goods or parts out of a Warroad plant, have its registration and service records together before you call, and tell us whether it sits at the plant lot or at your yard.
Transportation and warehousing account for 89 Warroad jobs, or 2.7 percent, in that same LEHD release from the Census Bureau. Many of those trucks are owned by the businesses whose goods they move, so if yours belonged to a company rather than to you personally, have the person who signs for the company ready with the title.
General freight is the commonest cargo listed among Warroad’s 66 active carriers, with 24 of them naming it in FMCSA’s carrier census. Box trucks, day cabs and van trailers from that kind of work are all trucks we purchase, and a few clear photos of the cab, the frame and the tires let us see what you are describing.
Hoppers and log bunks
Grain trucks and log haulers near Lake of the Woods
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 23 Warroad carriers hauling grain, feed or hay, and 21 hauling logs, poles, beams or lumber. A grain hopper or a log truck with its trailer can be collected from a field edge, a farm shop or a landing, so give us the road and the nearest crossroads rather than a mailing address.
Roseau County holds 751 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and soybeans, wheat and cattle lead the list there. If your truck runs only at harvest and stays parked the rest of the year, tell us where it is stored and send the VIN; that is enough for us to start.
Eighteen Warroad carriers list machinery and large objects as cargo, again according to FMCSA’s carrier census. Lowboys, flatbeds and the tractors that pull them fit here too, and if the trailer is selling with the tractor, have both titles or registrations ready so they can go together.
Intrastate haulers and their own-goods fleets
Forty-nine of Warroad’s 66 carriers operate intrastate only and 17 cross state lines, according to the federal carrier census kept by FMCSA. A truck registered for Minnesota work alone is still one we buy; just have the current registration card with the title so the plate details match.
That same FMCSA carrier census counts 49 private fleets in Warroad, outfits that haul their own goods rather than freight for hire. If the truck belongs to a farm, a mill or a manufacturer, the business name on the title is what matters at signing, so check it against the registration before we arrive.
Drivers tied to Warroad carriers split across two working ranges in the FMCSA census: 123 stay inside a hundred-mile radius and 176 go beyond it. If your truck is out on a longer route when you decide to sell, tell us where it will be parked next and we will meet it there.
Roadside checks of 43 Warroad trucks, made from September 2024 to August 2026 and kept in FMCSA roadside inspection records, show a median model year of 2016.
Among those 43 inspected trucks, FMCSA roadside inspection records put 51.16 percent at ten or more model years old. Whatever year your truck is, send any inspection reports you kept along with your photos and a short note on where it has been working.
Selling a single rig or several from one lot
In FMCSA’s carrier census, the biggest Warroad-based operation reports 182 power units and 116 drivers, and the next two report 35 units with 19 drivers and 28 units with 34 drivers. Whether you are selling one truck or several from a yard of that size, list each unit’s VIN and where it is parked so we can plan one visit.
Across 21 Warroad carriers reporting mileage, the median truck covers 14,417 miles a year, a figure taken from FMCSA’s carrier census. Note your truck’s annual miles alongside its odometer so the picture you give us is complete.
Building work adds its own trucks: the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns list 16 construction establishments around Warroad, and dump trucks and service bodies from those jobs are welcome, with the same title, registration and service history.
Driving to the Baudette deputy registrar
Titles in Minnesota are handled through deputy registrar offices. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) lists the Baudette office at 206 8th Ave, Baudette, 56623, about 36.7 miles from Warroad, as the nearest place to request a replacement title.
If a lender is still listed on the title, bring the lender’s lien release to the Baudette deputy registrar as well. Starting that errand before you call us keeps the sale from waiting on a missing document.
The questions we get asked in Warroad
- Will you take a hopper-bottom or log truck from a Warroad outfit?Warroad has 23 carriers hauling grain, feed or hay and 21 hauling logs or lumber in FMCSA’s carrier census, and we buy trucks from both kinds of work. Send the VIN, photos and the truck’s location to start.
- My truck sits on a farm outside Warroad; will you pick it up from the field?Roseau County’s 751 farms, counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, put plenty of trucks on rural ground, and we collect from where the truck sits. Give us the road and the nearest crossroads.
- Our Warroad business holds the title, not me personally; who has to sign?Warroad has 49 private fleets in FMCSA’s carrier census, so company-titled trucks are common here; the person authorised to sign for the business needs to sign the title.
