Fuel terminals along the Hudson from Arlington
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal at Poughkeepsie, 2 miles west of Arlington, and another at Roseton, 10 miles to the south-west across the river. If your tanker or fuel tractor loads at either one, tell us which terminal it served and send the VIN with your first message, so our questions start from the right place.
South-west of town, New Hamburg appears in Bureau of Transportation Statistics port listings as a liquid bulk terminal about 8 miles out. A tractor that shuttles product between New Hamburg and the Poughkeepsie racks can stay parked where you keep it; give us the address and the name of whoever can open the gate.
For a straight truck or tractor that has hauled fuel locally, gather the tank’s inspection records and any service history you keep with the cab. Photos of the tank, the pump gear and the plate on the frame let us see the same truck you are describing.
Dump bodies from the pits south and north-east of Arlington
Clinton Point Quarry & Mill, a crushed-stone operation 5.3 miles south, and the Peckham Materials Pleasant Valley Quarry, 6.8 miles north-east, both appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records. Dump trucks, tri-axles and lowboys that haul stone out of those pits are trucks we purchase, and we can collect one at the quarry lot if that is where it sits.
East and north-east, the Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists two sand and gravel operations: RW-Billings at 9.1 miles and Route 82 Sand & Gravel, Inc. at 10.9 miles. If your dump body or mixer works that side of the county, photograph the bed, the hoist and the cab, and note which pit it last loaded at.
Quarry and gravel trucks often stay on site between jobs. Tell us whose property the truck is on and whether a loader or gate key is needed to reach it, and we will plan the collection around that.
Danskammer and the west-bank yards
Danskammer Plant, 9.2 miles south-west, is listed as a rail yard by the North American Rail Network, which the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. Roseton’s fuel terminal sits on that same bank, 10 miles out by the Energy Information Administration’s listing.
If your truck works the west bank and you live in Arlington, you do not need to bring it across the bridge to sell it. Send us the location, the VIN and a phone number for someone near the truck, and the pickup is arranged there.
Down Market Street
A missing Arlington title and the Poughkeepsie DMV office
A missing title is handled by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and its nearest office to Arlington is the Poughkeepsie office at 22 Market St, in the County Office Building, about 1.7 miles away. Replacement steps are published on the department’s title page, and you can start that request before you contact us.
Bring the registration, your photo ID and any lien release to that Market Street counter. If a lender is still listed on the title, tell us the lender’s name at the start so the release can be part of the sale.
Dairy, horse farms and town jobs
Arlington’s county counted 620 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, equine and deer listed as the top products for Dutchess County. Milk haulers, livestock and horse trailers’ tow tractors, and feed trucks from those farms are welcome here; tell us what the truck carried and send photos of the body.
Arlington held 1,967 jobs in 2023, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES), spread across shops and services around town. Box trucks, service bodies and roll-offs from local businesses can be collected from the shop yard or your driveway, whichever is easier for you.
Albany’s posted status
New York clean-truck rules today
On New York State’s own environmental posting, the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation carries an enforcement-paused status for Arlington’s trucks as for the rest of the state. The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HD Omnibus) Regulation shows the same paused status on the state’s published rule text.
Neither rule changes what you need to sell a truck in Arlington: the title, the registration and clear photos. Ask us if you are unsure how either one applies to your truck.
