Crushed stone south-west, gravel toward Savona
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Bath Plant, a crushed-stone quarry, 2 miles south-west of the village. A dump truck or tri-axle that has worked that pit can stay parked at the yard it uses; give us the site address and the name of whoever can let a driver through the gate.
Savona Gravel LLC, 3.6 miles east, and the Howard Plant, 9.7 miles west, are both sand and gravel operations on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register. If your truck runs between those pits and Bath job sites, have the title, the current New York registration and a set of photos showing the body, the hoist and the cab ready before you call.
SAVONA rack
Loading fuel between Savona and Seneca Lake at Watkins Glen
Two petroleum product terminals appear in the Energy Information Administration’s listings near Bath: SAVONA, 3.6 miles south-east, and the Watkins Glen Terminal, 19 miles east. A straight tank truck or tractor that loads at either one can be collected where it is kept, whether that is a yard in Bath or a lot near the rack.
Further out, a Sunoco liquid bulk terminal 23.2 miles south-east is recorded by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. For a fuel tractor or tanker, send the VIN, any tank inspection certificates you hold and the service records, and tell us which terminals it loaded at.
Lumber, hay and own-account fleets in the village
Of the 166 active carriers that FMCSA’s carrier census places in Bath, 114 haul only their own goods as private fleets, the kind a farm, sawmill or contractor keeps. The same FMCSA figures show 33 with interstate authority and 133 operating intrastate only; wherever in New York yours is kept, that is where we collect it.
General freight is listed by 66 of those carriers in the same FMCSA census, logs, poles, beams and lumber by 55, farm supplies by 54 and grain, feed and hay by 52. A log truck, a flatbed loaded at a sawmill or a feed truck all qualify; tell us the body type and the trailer, if one comes with it.
Bath’s top three operators by FMCSA census count field 20, 13 and 12 power units, with 14, 15 and 10 drivers. An owner selling several units at once can send one list of VINs with the registration for each, and we will work through them together.
Odometers and 2018
Short Cohocton valley runs and a 2018 median
Of the drivers reported in FMCSA’s carrier census for Bath, 228 stay within 100 miles and 131 travel further. FMCSA’s census puts the median at 13,683 miles a year per truck across the 32 carriers that reported mileage; a clear photo of your odometer belongs with the first message you send.
FMCSA roadside inspection records from October 2024 to August 2026 cover 51 trucks from Bath carriers, with a median model year of 2018 and a third of them ten or more years old. Whatever the model year on your title, it is the same short list to start: VIN, odometer reading and photos of each side.
East Pulteney Square
A duplicate title from the village square
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles runs its Bath office at 3 East Pulteney Square, about 0.2 miles from the village centre. If the title has gone missing, a replacement is requested through that department, and the Pulteney Square office is the one closest to hand.
Bring the registration and your identification to that DMV counter if you need a duplicate title. Once the title is in your name and in hand, the transfer to us can go ahead.
Cohocton River crossings
Bridges, farms and rail near Bath
The National Bridge Inventory records 10 bridges in Bath, none of them load posted and one under 14 feet: Veterans Avenue over the Cohocton River, at 13ft 6in. If your truck sits on the far side of that crossing, mention it so the tow or transport is routed around the low clearance.
Steuben County has 1,373 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, corn and cattle as its leading products. A milk hauler, grain truck or cattle trailer kept on a farm outside the village can be collected from the farmyard; tell us how the lane is laid out and where a truck can turn.
On the North American Rail Network, the Gang Mills rail yard sits about 17 miles south-east. A truck parked near the yard or along the road there is just as easy for us to reach as one in Bath itself.
