Tankers loading at the racks just east of town
The Energy Information Administration lists two petroleum product terminals at Vestal, one 6.3 miles east of Crest View Heights and the other 6.7 miles east. A tank truck or fuel tractor that loads at either one is the kind of rig we buy, and we collect it from your driveway, your yard or a lot near the terminals.
Before you call about a tanker that has run out of Vestal, find the tank’s placard history and any hazmat inspection sheets you kept. Those sheets, along with the VIN and a set of clear photos of the barrel, the valves and the cab, let us ask the right questions on the first call.
Twelve miles east, Norfolk Southern TBT appears in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings as a liquid bulk terminal. If your tractor pulled tank trailers between that terminal and the Vestal racks, tell us which trailers went with it and whether you are selling them too.
Day cabs between the OHRY yard and Binghamton
According to the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the OWEGO (OHRY) rail yard lies 8 miles west of town while the BINGHAMTON yard lies 11.5 miles east. Day cabs that shuttle freight between rail sidings and Southern Tier warehouses are trucks we purchase outright.
A tractor kept near either yard does not have to come to Crest View Heights for us to see it. Give us the street address of where it is parked, say whether a rollback can reach it, and send the registration so the name on it matches the seller.
Quarries strung along the road past Binghamton
Mine Safety and Health Administration records place Roberts’ Stone LLC, a dimension-stone quarry, 14.5 miles east of Crest View Heights, with the Conklin crushed-stone quarry at 17.7 miles and Trim Street Quarry at 18.8 miles. Dump trucks, tri-axles and lowboy tractors that haul block and gravel out of those pits are all trucks we take.
If your dump truck worked Conklin or Trim Street, photograph the body, the hoist and the tailgate as well as the cab and the plate. Note the body length and whether a plow hitch or a spreader came with it, since those details tell us which equipment is part of the sale.
Milk trucks, grain hauling and cattle trailers
Tioga County had 502 farms when USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture was taken, and milk, corn and cattle were its top products. Bulk milk tankers, grain trucks and tractors that pull livestock trailers all come off farms like these, and we buy each of them.
A farm truck in Tioga County is often titled to the farm rather than to a person. Check whose name is on the title before you call, and if it belongs to a farm business, have the person who can sign for that business ready to sign at pickup.
Endicott DMV
Only 4.2 miles from Crest View Heights, the ENDICOTT office of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles sits at 137 WASHINGTON AVE, ENDICOTT. If the title for your truck is lost, that office can take a replacement application, and the agency also accepts requests through its DMV offices statewide.
Start the replacement before you list the truck with us, and keep the receipt the Endicott counter gives you. Take your registration and photo ID along on that trip, and write the VIN on the form exactly as it reads on the frame.
A small job base and two paused engine rules
For 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 230 jobs inside Crest View Heights, a hillside community of under two thousand residents. A truck based here may be parked in town or at a yard in Vestal, Endicott or Owego, and we arrange collection at whichever of those places it sits.
New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation lists the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HD Omnibus) Regulation for heavy trucks; enforcement of both is on hold. A diesel tractor of any model year can still be sold to us here, and the paused status does not change what you need to bring.
