Crompond’s own fleets are mostly private and in-state
Out of 190 active Crompond carriers, a full 153 haul their own goods as private fleets, going by FMCSA’s carrier census. If your truck belongs to a contractor, a landscaper or a supply yard rather than a trucking company, that is the usual case here, and we buy it the same way: send the VIN, the plate and a few photos of the cab, the chassis and the body.
Of those 190 carriers, 161 run intrastate only and 29 cross state lines, on the same federal carrier census. A truck that has stayed inside New York will usually carry a New York registration and a New York inspection sticker; have both to hand, along with the title, when you get in touch.
The largest Crompond fleet in the census runs 67 power units with 48 drivers, the next 24 units and the third 21, figures FMCSA publishes for each registered carrier. A business selling several trucks at once can list them together, and we will arrange to collect them from the yard where they are parked.
General freight, machinery and refuse bodies
General freight is the most common cargo listed by Crompond carriers, at 66 of them on FMCSA’s census, followed by machinery and large objects at 36. Box trucks, flatbeds and lowboy tractors all fit those two lines; tell us the body type and the trailer it pulls, if any, so the questions we ask are about your setup.
Eighteen local carriers list garbage, refuse and trash, and 15 list motor vehicles, according to the same FMCSA carrier census. Roll-off, rear-loader and car-carrier bodies are trucks we purchase too; photograph the body and its hydraulics as well as the cab so we see the whole unit.
Crompond drivers mostly work close to base
On FMCSA’s carrier census, the Crompond firms put 406 of their drivers inside a hundred-mile radius and only 78 outside it. For most sellers here that means the truck is parked at a home yard or a job site close to town when we come for it; give us that address and any gate or access detail.
Forty-one Crompond carriers file yearly mileage with FMCSA, and their middle figure is twelve thousand miles for each truck. Have the odometer reading ready with the VIN; those two numbers answer most of what we need before collection.
Between late August 2024 and late August 2026, officers stopped 113 trucks run by Crompond carriers, and FMCSA roadside inspection records put the middle model year of that group at 2019. Newer and older trucks are both on our list; give us the model year, make and engine when you write.
Roughly two in five of the Crompond trucks in those FMCSA roadside inspection records, 41 percent, had reached ten model years or more. Whatever the year, a service log or recent inspection report helps us understand the truck, so pass along any you have kept.
Terminals, rail yards and quarries around Crompond
Head west out of Crompond for 5.5 miles and you reach the Cortland Manor petroleum product terminal, as the Energy Information Administration records it. Fuel delivery tractors and tank trucks that load there are welcome; mention the terminal when you contact us, along with the tank’s capacity and the trailer’s paperwork.
Two rail yards sit to the south-west on the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics: North Croton at 6.7 miles and Harmon Shops at 7.5. If your truck works around either yard, it can stay where it is; we collect from the site.
Haverstraw Quarry & Mill, a crushed-stone operation, lies 10.3 miles south-west on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, with West Nyack Quarry at 14.4 miles and the Century Aggregates Fishkill sand and gravel mine 14.3 miles north. Dump trucks and tri-axles that haul aggregate from those sites are trucks we buy; include photos of the bed and the tailgate.
Crompond sellers replace titles in Peekskill
A replacement title in this state comes from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and its Peekskill office at 1045 Park St, Peekskill, is 4.1 miles from Crompond according to the DMV’s own office list. If the title is missing, start the replacement there or through DMV offices online before we arrange pickup.
Bring the registration and your identification to that Peekskill DMV office, and if a lender still holds a lien, ask for the release at the same time. Once the title is in your name and free of liens, the sale can go ahead.
