Fuel racks nearby
Two fuel terminals a short haul north-west
The Energy Information Administration places the Lawrence Blending Terminal 3.2 miles north-west of East Atlantic Beach and lists Inwood, another petroleum product terminal, only a tenth of a mile beyond it. A tank wagon or fuel-delivery straight truck that loads at either rack is a truck we buy, and we pick it up where it is parked, whether that is a home driveway in East Atlantic Beach or a yard by the terminal gate.
If your truck has hauled from Lawrence or Inwood, gather the hazmat placard records, the tank test certificates and the registration before you call. Send daylight photos of the tank barrel, the valves and the cab along with those papers.
Jamaica Yard and the rail freight next door
Jamaica Yard appears on the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, at 9.3 miles north-west, and a second yard listed as Jamaica sits at 9.5 miles. Box trucks and day cabs that shuttle freight off those sidings into Brooklyn and Nassau are welcome sales here.
A truck that works the Jamaica sidings may be parked in Queens instead of at home in Nassau. Tell us which borough it is in and whether a tow vehicle can reach it, and send the VIN with the first message so we can match the title to the truck.
Heating oil depots
Bayside Fuel Oil and the heating-oil run
Bayside Fuel Oil Depot Corporation, a liquid bulk terminal, is 14.5 miles north-west of town on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ list, and The Energy Conservation Group appears on that same list at 15.1 miles. Heating-oil delivery trucks that load at depots like these are part of what we take off sellers’ hands.
For an oil delivery truck, keep the meter calibration slips, the hose and reel paperwork, and the last annual inspection sticker record together in the cab. Those papers, plus clear photos of the pump and the compartments, give us the picture we need.
Brooklyn bases
Fort Hamilton and the Brooklyn installation to the west
Westward, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics shows a military installation in Brooklyn 8.9 miles off and Fort Hamilton 16.6 miles off. Contractor box trucks and utility bodies that serve those bases can be sold to us wherever they are stationed.
If a vehicle is kept on or near a base, let us know about gate access ahead of time and which name is printed on the title. A truck titled to a business needs a signature from someone authorised to sign for that business.
Rockaway Boulevard
A Rockaway Boulevard counter for lost certificates
For East Atlantic Beach owners, the nearest office named by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is Queens South TVB, 5.9 miles off at 168-35 Rockaway Blvd in Jamaica. If the certificate for your truck has gone missing, that is the nearest office the department names for this town.
A replacement certificate can also be requested through the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at its DMV offices. Start that before you list the truck with us, and tell us if a lien is still recorded, so the sale closes with a clean transfer.
Beach and county
A small workforce and Nassau’s horse farms
Only 220 jobs were located in East Atlantic Beach in 2023, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES). If your truck is parked at your home in town, we arrange the pickup around your street and your schedule.
Across Nassau County, 29 farms were recorded in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with equine operations and cut flowers and cultivated greens at the top. Stake bodies, horse-hauling tractors and nursery box trucks from those farms are trucks we buy as well.
Emission rules paused
ACT and HD Omnibus enforcement, paused for East Atlantic Beach owners
New York has adopted the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation, and the state reports that enforcement of it is paused. The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HD Omnibus) Regulation is also on the books, with its enforcement paused as well.
East Atlantic Beach owners can sell a diesel truck to us today without any added state paperwork from either rule. Keep the emissions label on the engine readable and include a photo of it with the others.
