FMCSA’s carrier census shows 149 active carriers based in East Glenville, and 117 of them run private fleets moving their own goods rather than hauling for hire. If your truck belongs to a business that uses it for its own deliveries, say what the business does when you get in touch, and have the title in the company’s name ready to sign over.
Of those 149 carriers, the same federal census counts 135 operating intrastate and only 14 crossing state lines. A New York-only truck will usually be sitting at a yard or a driveway close to town, so give us the street address and the name of whoever holds the keys, and we collect it there.
Of the drivers on file, 245 work within 100 miles of base and 92 go farther, according to FMCSA’s carrier filings. For a short-radius tractor or straight truck, a few clear photos of the cab, frame, tires and the odometer are what we need to start.
General freight, machinery and refuse trucks
General freight is listed by 74 local carriers in the FMCSA census, and machinery and large objects by 29. Box trucks, day cabs and flatbeds from that work all fit what we buy; send the VIN first so the make, model and engine are settled before anything else.
Sixteen carriers in East Glenville list garbage, refuse and trash, and 15 list motor vehicles, per FMCSA’s registry. If yours is a roll-off, a packer or a car hauler, include photos of the body or deck along with the chassis, and tell us whether the body stays with the truck.
The three biggest fleets based here run 44, 12 and 9 power units under the federal carrier census. Selling more than one unit from a fleet of that size works the same as selling one: list each VIN, where each truck is parked, and who signs for the company.
Have the registration and any service records together so the year, make and engine match on paper.
Older or newer, the steps are identical: title, registration, photos and the location.
Read the odometer and note the hours if the truck has an hour meter, and put both in your first message.
Quarries west, rail yards east
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists PATTERSONVILLE PLANT #61 about 9.9 miles west and CUSHING STONE COMPANY INC about 11.4 miles west, both crushed-stone quarries. A dump truck or tri-axle parked at or near one of those sites can stay put; tell us whose ground it is on so pickup is cleared with them.
East of town, the North American Rail Network shows the MECHANICVILLE yard 11.4 miles out, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Albany, NY - Mechanicville intermodal ramp at 11.6 miles. Container tractors working that ramp can be collected from a drop lot nearby; name the lot and the gate contact.
HEMSTREET PARK PIT, a sand and gravel operation 13.2 miles east on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, rounds out the aggregate sites around East Glenville. Note the axle setup and body length of a gravel truck in your photos.
Contractors’ dump trucks, stake beds and service trucks from that work are all trucks we collect.
A contractor selling a work truck should have the title, the registration and the keys in one place, plus a note on any toolbox, crane or lift mounted on it.
In Schenectady County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 144 farms, with milk, cattle and propagative material as the top products. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and farm trucks can be picked up at the farm; give us directions to the barn or yard.
Titles and New York’s clean-truck rules
Start the duplicate there before you contact us if the title is missing, and keep the receipt.
New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation lists the Advanced Clean Trucks regulation with enforcement paused. Its Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus regulation is also shown as enforcement paused, so neither rule changes the paperwork needed to sell a diesel truck here today.
