Stone haulers between the Penfield and Walworth pits
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Penfield Plant, a crushed-stone quarry, 2.4 miles north of East Rochester, and the Walworth Plant, another crushed-stone quarry, 9 miles east. A tri-axle or tandem dump that hauls stone out of either pit can be sold from the yard it parks in; give us the street address and a name for whoever holds the gate key.
South of the village, Syracusa Sand & Gravel Inc sits 10.2 miles out and the West Bloomfield Mine 14.5 miles out, both sand and gravel operations on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register. If your dump or loader trailer works those pits, photograph the body, the hoist and the VIN plate in daylight and send them with the title number.
The carriers based in the village
There are 191 active carriers registered in East Rochester on FMCSA’s carrier census, and 150 of them are private fleets moving their own goods. The same FMCSA census shows 171 of the 191 operating intrastate and 19 crossing state lines; keep the New York registration card with the title when we call.
General freight is the cargo listed by 79 of those carriers in the federal motor carrier census, machinery and large objects by 33, logs, poles, beams and lumber by 21, and motor vehicles by 19. Flatbeds, lowboys, car haulers and straight trucks all fit that mix, and we take each of them as a whole unit or as a tractor alone.
Ten new carriers registered in 2025 and eight in 2024, the FMCSA census shows, and its three biggest local fleets report 35, 22 and 22 power units. Whether you run one truck or a few dozen, list each unit’s VIN and plate on one sheet and we will work through them together.
Short local runs, and where the truck waits
Carriers in the village report 461 drivers working within 100 miles and 137 working beyond it, according to FMCSA’s census. Tell us the shop or lot where your truck parks between jobs, and we plan collection there, without you driving anywhere.
Across 30 carriers that report mileage, the median truck covered 11,348 miles a year in the FMCSA carrier records. A low annual figure like that is a neutral fact; just read the odometer when you contact us and put the number in your first message.
Village trucks checked at the roadside, by build year
Between August 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records logged 117 trucks from the village, whose middle model year was 2022 and of which 9.4 percent were built ten or more years earlier. Whatever the model year of yours, send the build year with the make and model so we can match it to the correct paperwork.
If a recent inspection report sits in the glovebox, include a photo of it; FMCSA roadside inspection records are public, and having your copy at hand lets us match the unit number and VIN on our end.
Contractors, plants, dairies and fuel terminals
Of the 2,925 jobs located in East Rochester in 2023, construction held 492, manufacturing 290 and wholesale trade 99, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. East Rochester’s 81 construction establishments, as County Business Patterns records them, keep dump bodies, stake beds and service trucks on the road. Any of those contractor trucks can be picked up at the job site or the firm’s own yard.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture lists corn, soybeans and milk at the top of Monroe County’s output, across 511 county farms. A grain truck or milk tanker parked on a farm in the county is collected where it stands; tell us whether the lane takes a tow truck in wet weather.
Two petroleum product terminals, Rochester South at 8.5 miles and Rochester North at 8.6 miles, both west of the village, appear in Energy Information Administration listings. Fuel tank trucks that load there can be sold with the tank attached; name the product it last carried.
Titles, rail yards and clean-truck rules
A lost New York title is replaced through the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles; its Henrietta office at 1225 Jefferson Rd, Suite A 26 A, Rochester, is 6.1 miles from East Rochester. Start the replacement there before pickup, and tell us if a lender still appears on the title.
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places the Rochester yard 5.4 miles north-west and the Rochester Brooks Ave yard 9.5 miles west. Trucks that shuttle freight to either yard are collected from the village or the yard lot, whichever you name.
For a Monroe County diesel, the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation currently shows its Advanced Clean Trucks and Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus enforcement on pause. Neither rule stops you from selling a diesel truck registered here.
